Typical isn't it? I slandered the Charlie Johnson yard last night as his horses have been running shockingly and he goes ahead and wins the feature race at Ayr.

I'm hoping a recently tipped-up horse can get me back on the straight and narrow.

Kikkuli 3/1 – Sandown 8:12

I tipped up this horse quite recently on the thread and he managed to win nicely for us on the day. I'm putting my faith in him again, with the hope he will take this rise in class in his stride.

Harry Charlton's Kikkuli, a half-brother to Frankel was impressive on debut even though he did not win. He finished second, running green and showing signs of inexperience. Regardless, when the penny dropped, he showed clear signs of ability and did well to finish as close as he did in the end.

Kikkuli then reappeared at the same track during the Craven meeting, he again showed signs of greenness but took a step forward from his debut run to beat Charlie Appleby's Creative Story on the line. I did a bit of digging into the form of that particular race and was delighted to see it has worked out well. Primo Lara, Skukuza and The Amazon have since gone on to win and a few others stepped up to finish within the placings on their following outings.

Kikkuli is not the finished article and can be far better than the form I've just discussed. He still needs to learn to settle, but that will come with race experience. The fact he has been able to win a race that's produced multiple winners, whilst running green, tells me he has the potential to be a top horse. This listed contest should give connections an idea of where he stands going forward and if all goes well it looks like an ideal stepping-stone for him to contest in bigger races in the near future.

Mycoloursoryours 7/2 – Lingfield 4:20

I thought Mycoloursoryours was of interest at the meeting at Lingfield. He comes up against a recent rival in Far L’Amore.

The pair met at Newbury last month, which saw Brian Meehan’s Far L’Amore finishing four lengths ahead of my selection on that occasion. That contest was over a furlong further than today's race and Mycoloursoryours drops back to the distance of his debut which saw him finish a creditable third.

The form of his maiden has since been franked with the winner going in again whilst the seventh placed winning also. Young Billy Loughanne takes the ride for trainer P&O Cole.

Harswell Dandy 5/4 – Catterick 2:10

This looks like an ideal opportunity for Harswell Dandy to get off the mark and connections will be disappointed if she is unable to do so.

Harswell Dandy can probably count herself a bit unlucky not to have a win to her name. She has run with credit on her outings thus far and has simply bumped into one better on each occasion.

It's hard to judge the form of her debut run which saw her finish second at Pontefract. The winner of that contest has yet to run again and the same can be said for the third-placed horse.

The form of her second outing, however, looks quite strong. She finished only half a length being Charlie Johnson's Zabeel Road who was recently pitched into a valuable class two at York. Zabeel Road didn't win on that occasion, however, he did finish fourth, three and a quarter lengths behind the winner Shadow Army, who looks like a really exciting prospect from the Richard Fahey yard.

    Sweet William 7-07 sandown 5-2.

This, trueshan and caius chorister have taken turns in beating each other this past year.
He’s been placed in all 10 races so should at least be in the mix.

If they all ran at 100% trueshan would win but he needs more rain to be at his max at his age nowadays
