Racing Tips – Back Charlie Mason At Windsor

I was delighted to land a winner yesterday with My Little Queens who was advised at 4/1 last night. The money poured In for my selection overnight and she went off a 6/4 favourite on the day.

I was disappointed with Kalpana who travelled well until the two pole. Oisin asked her to close the gap with the eventual winner but she was outstayed towards the line. The money came for Kalpana overnight and she went off a 4/6 favourite. I wouldn't have advised laying her as short as 4/6 however I thought the 11/8 which was available last night was worthy of a bet.

Sea The Fire was my selection in the 1000 Guineas, she travelled up with the pace for a long way but very quickly drifted back through the field and Is probably a horse who needs further on that performance.

I've only one selection for Monday's racing and It comes from the opener at Windsor.

Charlie Mason 10/3 – 14:00 Windsor

The horse I like In this contest is Tony Carroll's Charlie Mason who looks sure to appreciate this slight step up in trip to 6f.

My selection was previously trained by David Evans and only recently changed hands to Tony Carroll last month. Charlie Mason was a progressive and consistent sort when trained by David Evans, form figures when trained by David Evans read 33221437.

My selection was campaigned over both 5f/6f last season, with the 6f being his preferred trip. He made his debut for Tony Carroll at Bath over the extended 5f a few weeks ago. He was slow out of the gates and was out-paced as a result. He caught onto the main group and stayed on well to finish fourth. The fact he stayed on that day suggests that this step back up in trip to 6f should suit him well.

Kiss and Run is the current favourite for this race and she too contested in the run at Bath. She finished two lengths ahead of my selection on the day. There's plenty of pace on offer in this contest which should suit my selection as he tends to travel better when they go a decent gallop.
