Following on from Thursday’s winner in Washington, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the English Championship, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection on one of the fixtures.

Goals look on the cards at St Mary’s on Saturday afternoon as Southampton play host to Bristol City in the English Championship.
Tonda Eckert’s hosts have scored 14 goals across their opening six Championship encounters this campaign, with 11 (79%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Saints have found the back of the net in all six (100%) of those Championship contests – scoring on multiple occasions in all three on home soil – and will be confident of adding to their goal tally against a Robins defence that has yet to record a clean sheet in the Championship this season, shipping seven goals.

The Robins have made the net bulge in each of their previous four league outings – scoring 2+ goals in each of them – and will look to continue their form in front of goal against a Saints backline that has also yet to register a clean sheet in the Championship this term.
