Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Premier League, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Two clubs separated only by goal difference in the Premier League table meet at the Stadium of Light on Saturday afternoon as seventh-placed Sunderland entertain eighth-placed Bournemouth in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Regis Le Bris’ hosts have scored 14 goals across their opening 12 matches since promotion back to the Premier League, with 11 (79%) of those coming in front of their supporters.
The Black Cats have made the net bulge in each of their opening six Premier League contests on home soil this term – notching 2+ goals in four (67%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a Cherries backline that has shipped 16 goals across their opening six encounters on their travels this season.
Andoni Iraola’s visitors have scored 19 goals across their opening 12 Premier League encounters this season, with nine (47%) of them coming on their travels.
The Cherries have failed to score just twice in the Premier League this season, scoring 2+ goals in seven (58%) of them coming – including in five of their previous seven – and will look to breach a Sunderland defence that has kept just one clean sheet across their last five home matches, with that coming against rock-bottom Wolves.

Bournemouth’s opening 12 Premier League fixtures this season have averaged 3.25 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in eight (67%) of them, including in six of their last seven (2-2, 3-1, 3-3, 2-0, 1-3, 0-4 & 2-2)
In fact, since the beginning of last season, Bournemouth’s 25 Premier League away games have averaged an eye-catching 3.60 goals per game, with 18 of their last 20 and 20 of their previous 24 having produced three or more goals.
Sunderland’s opening six home matches since promotion to the Premier League have averaged 2.67 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals landing on three (50%) occasions, including in that thrilling 2-2 draw against leaders Arsenal last time out.
