Second-placed Milan will look to continue their push towards the Serie A title as they welcome 17th-placed Genoa to San Siro on Thursday night in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Max Allegri’s hosts are the second-highest scorers in Serie A this campaign, firing in 28 goals across their opening 17 matches, with 15 (54%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Rossoneri have found the back of the net in each of their opening nine Serie A contests at home this term – notching on multiple occasions in five of their past seven – and will be confident of breaching a Genoa backline that has kept just one clean sheet since the opening day of the season, shipping 2+ goals in five of their last seven on the road.
Danielle De Rossi’s hosts have scored 18 goals across their opening 18 Serie A fixtures this season, with 12 (67%) of them coming on their travels.
The Grifone have found the back of the net in each of their opening eight Serie A encounters on their travels this season – scoring on multiple occasions in three of their last four – and will look to continue their impressive goal-scoring record away from home against a Milan defence that has conceded in 4/5 (80%) of their home matches against teams positioned in 10th and below, conceding two or more strikes in three (75%) of them.

Milan’s opening nine Serie A fixtures in front of their supporters this campaign have averaged 2.56 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in six (67%) of them – including in all five against teams positioned in 10th and below (1-2, 2-1, 2-2, 2-2 & 3-0) – and I’m backing that trend to continue at San Siro on Thursday night.
