After recording a fourth consecutive winner at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me drop down to the EFL, and I’ve highlighted one side that I am keen to get onside.

⚽️ Wigan Athletic vs Rotherham United

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 League One

⏰ Tuesday 14 April, 19:45

Wigan will look to further distance themselves from the League One relegation zone as they welcome struggling Rotherham United to The Brick Community Stadium on Tuesday night.

Wigan recorded back-to-back wins for the first time in the league this season at the weekend, as they followed up their 1-3 victory away at 23rd-placed Northampton Town by defeating mid-table Mansfield Town 2-1 at home.

Gary Caldwell’s hosts have now won five and lost just two of their previous 10 League One contests (W5-D3-L2), moving them up to 15th in the table, five points clear of the relegation zone.

Rotherham, on the other hand, travel to Greater Manchester winless in each of their last eight League One clashes following their 1-3 loss at home to Barnsley at the weekend.

That result leaves Lee Clark’s visitors destined for League Two, as they sit 13 points adrift of safety, with just five matches left to play.

Bet of the Day

These two clubs arrive into this clash in contrasting form, and it’s hard to envisage the hosts not picking up all three points against their struggling visitors.

It’s at home where the Latics have been particularly strong over the past couple of months, winning five of their last seven encounters (W5-D1-L1), keeping clean sheets in five of those matches.

The Millers boast the division’s worst away record, picking up a measly 11 points from their 20 road trips, losing each of their last six and 10 of their past 11 – failing to even score a goal across those six most recent defeats – and I’m expecting that trend to continue on Tuesday evening.
