After recording a third consecutive winner in Spain on Saturday, Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Premier League, and I’ve highlighted one team that I’m keen to get onside.

⚽️ Chelsea vs Manchester City

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Premier League

⏰ Sunday 12 April, 16:30

Manchester City will look to move within six points of Premier League leaders Arsenal as they travel to Stamford Bridge to take on out-of-form Chelsea on Super Sunday.

Manchester City have bounced back from their Champions League exit in perfect fashion, as they ended Arsenal’s hopes of a quadruple by beating them 2-0 in the Carabao Cup final.

Pep Guardiola’s men then sealed their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup in emphatic fashion last weekend, as they thrashed Liverpool 4-0 at the Etihad.

The Cityzens will now be buoyed by Arsenal's surprise 1-2 home defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday, meaning the blue side of Manchester remains nine points behind the Gunners but has two games in hand, as well as hosting the North London club at the Etihad next weekend.

Another side that has joined Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals is Chelsea, following their 7-0 rout of League One basement dwellers Port Vale at Stamford Bridge last Saturday.

However, Liam Rosenior’s charges were beaten 3-0 at Everton in their last Premier League outing, meaning they have won just one of their previous six Premier League fixtures, losing three of their past four.

Bet of the Day

As alluded to, Manchester City have the chance to cut the gap to six points on Premier League Arsenal, and they should prove to be too strong for a Chelsea side out of form and missing key personnel.

What’s more, after defeating Manchester City in the Champions League final in 2021, Chelsea have failed to win any of their next 12 meetings against Pep Guardiola’s men – losing nine of them (W0-D3-L9) – and I’m backing that trend to continue in West London on Sunday.
