Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the goal-laden Dutch Eredivisie, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Two clubs separated only by two points in the Eredivisie table meet at the Abe Lenstra Stadion on Sunday afternoon as ninth-placed Heerenveen entertain 11th-placed PEC Zwolle in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Robin Veldman’s hosts have scored 35 goals across their opening 22 Eredivisie encounters this term, with 18 (51%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Frisians have only failed to score at home against runaway leaders PSV and rivals Groningen – scoring 2+ goals in six of their past nine – and will be expected to breach a PEC backline that has failed to keep a clean sheet across each of their previous 10 Eredivisie fixtures on their travels, shipping 30 goals.
Henry van der Vegt’s hosts have scored 31 goals across their opening 22 matches in the Dutch top flight this term, with 16 (52%) of them coming on their travels.
The Blauwvingers have made the net bulge in each of their opening 11 road trips in the Eredivisie this season – scoring on multiple occasions in 5/11 (45%) of them – and will look to continue their goal-scoring run away from home against a Heerenveen defence that has kept just two clean sheets in the Eredivisie this season, with neither of those coming at home.

Heerenveen’s opening 22 Eredivisie contests this campaign have averaged 3.27 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in 15 (68%) of them – including in 9/11 (82%) on home soil – whilst 15 of their last 21 have gone Over 2.5 Goals.
PEC’s opening 11 Eredivisie fixtures on the road this season have averaged a whopping 4.18 goals per game, with each of their last 10 producing goals at both ends, whilst nine of those 10 have also broken the Over 2.5 Goals barrier.
Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals paid out in the reverse fixture in November, and I’m expecting another high-scoring encounter in Friesland on Sunday afternoon.
