Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the Scottish Premiership, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Two clubs separated only by two points in the Scottish Premiership table meet at the Falkirk Stadium on Wednesday night as sixth-placed Falkirk hosts third-placed Motherwell in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
John McGlynn’s hosts have fired in 19 goals across their opening 14 Premiership fixtures this campaign, with 12 (63%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Bairns have found the back of the net in all seven (100%) of their home matches since their long-awaited return to the Scottish top flight – notching on multiple occasions in four (57%) of them – and will look to maintain their record of scoring in every home Premiership outing against a Well defence that is without a clean sheet in each of their previous six road trips, shipping 10 goals.
Jens Berthel Askou’s visitors have scored an impressive 22 goals across their opening 14 Premiership contests this campaign, with 12 (55%) of them coming on their travels.
The Steelmen have failed to score in just one of their last 12 league outings – striking 2+ goals in eight (67%) of them – and will look to score for the seventh consecutive away match against a Bairns backline that has still yet to record a clean sheet at home in the Premiership this season.

Falkirk’s opening 14 matches in the Premiership this season have averaged 2.86 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in 10 (71%) of them, including in 5/7 (71%) of them on home soil (2-2, 1-2, 2-2, 1-1, 2-1, 3-1 & 1-1).
Motherwell’s previous six Scottish Premiership clashes on their travels have averaged an eye-catching 3.67 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in four (67%) of them (3-3, 1-1, 2-3, 2-1, 1-1 & 3-1).
Over 2.5 Goals also paid out in the previous encounter at Fir Park between these two sides in the middle of October, and I’m prepared to back a repeat between two of the most entertaining teams in the division at the Falkirk Stadium on Wednesday night.
