After making it seven winners on the bounce at Bologna on Friday, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the German second tier, and one fixture in particular catches my eye for goals.

Kaiserslautern will look to jump out of the relegation places in the German 2. Bundesliga table as they welcome mid-table Karlsruher to the Fritz-Walter-Stadion tomorrow lunchtime in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.

Karlsruher have scored 40 goals across their opening 22 contests in the German second tier this campaign, with 17 (43%) of them coming on their travels. Christian Eichner’s visitors have made the net bulge in 18 (82%) of their league outings this term – notching on multiple occasions in nine of their previous 10 – and will look to continue their impressive recent record in front of goal against a Kaiserslautern defence still yet to keep a clean sheet in the 2. Bundesliga this season, with only bottom side VfL Osnabrück (45) conceding more than their tally of 44.

Bundesliga this season are averaging a staggering 3.90 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals clicking in seven (70%) of them – and given the same has landed in 9/11 (82%) of Kaiserslautern’s league contests on home soil – I’m happy to have a punt on there being at least three goals scored, with both sides scoring in what promises to be a highly-entertaining encounter in Western Germany tomorrow lunchtime.
