Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the second of the World Cup semi-finals, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection.

Reigning champions Argentina take on England in Atlanta, Georgia in the semi-finals of the World Cup in a fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.
After breezing through Group J with a 100% record, Argentina have found things far more difficult in the knockout stages.
Lionel Scaloni’s men required extra time to beat debutants Cape Verde 3-2 after being pegged back on two occasions, before miraculously coming from two goals down in the 79th minute to defeat Egypt 3-2 in the Round of 16.
La Albiceleste once again required extra time in the quarter-finals against Switzerland after a 1-1 draw in regulation time, but goals from Julian Alvarez and Lautaro Martinez saw off the 10-man Swiss.
England were also fairly comfortable in their group, as they topped Group L after finishing a point clear of their nearerst challengers Croatia.
But like their opponents, The Three Lions have found things far more challenging in the knockout stages, as they required a late Harry Kane brace to defeat DR Congo in the Round of 32, before edging a five-goal thriller with co-hosts Mexico at the Azteca in a match they were forced to play the majority of the second half with 10 men.
Thomas Tuchel’s hosts also drew their quarter-final 1-1, but a Jude Bellingham goal three minutes into extra-time sealed their passage into the semi-finals at the expense of Norway.

Thomas Tuchel’s men were involved in a couple of dour clashes with Ghana and Panama in the group stages, but their other four have seen Both Teams to Score, including all three of their knockout clashes.
Argentina’s six matches in North America this summer have produced an impressive 18 goals in regulation time – with Both Teams to Score landing in each of their last four – and I’m backing that trend to continue in Atlanta on Wednesday night.
