After making it five winners from my last six columns in Sweden on Tuesday, Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Irish top flight, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

⚽️ Galway United vs Bohemians

🇮🇪 Premier Division

⏰ Friday 22 May, 19:45

Bohemians will look to strengthen their position inside the European places as they travel to Eamonn Deacy Park to take on mid-table Galway United on Friday night in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.

John Caulfield’s hosts have scored 23 goals across their opening 16 league outings, with 12 (52%) of them coming on home soil.

The Tribesmen have found the back of the net in each of their previous six encounters in front of their supporters – notching on multiple occasions in four of their last five – and will look to continue their impressive goal-scoring form at home against a Bohs’ defence that is without a clean sheet in each of their past eight league clashes.

Alan Reynolds’ visitors have scored 23 goals across their opening 17 matches in the Irish top flight, with 11 (48%) of them coming on their travels.

The Bohs have only failed to score just twice since the opening day of the season – scoring 2+ goals in each of their last three – and will be confident of getting on the scoresheet again against a Galway defence that has kept just one clean sheet in the league all season, and none in each of their last 13 fixtures.

Bet of the Day

After seeing just five goals scored across their opening four league outings this season, Galway’s next 12 have averaged an eye-catching 3.50 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score paying out in 10 (83%) of them, including in each of their previous eight.

After seeing just 14 goals scored across their opening nine league outings this season, The Bohs’ next eight have averaged 3.13 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score paying out in all eight (100%) of them – and I’m backing that trend to continue at Eamonn Deacy Park on Friday night.
