Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to La Liga, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ Deportivo Alaves vs RCD Mallorca
🇪🇸 La Liga
⏰ Saturday 25 April, 13:00
Two clubs in danger of relegation in La Liga meet at Mendizorroza on Saturday afternoon as 18th-placed Deportivo Alaves host 16th-placed Mallorca in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Quique Sanchez Flores’s new side have scored 36 goals across their opening 32 clashes in the Spanish top flight this term, with 19 (41%) of them coming on their travels.
The Babazorros have made the net bulge in eight of their last nine and 15 of their previous 19 La Liga outings – notching on multiple occasions in three of the past four and seven of their previous 12 – and will look to continue their recent form in front of goal against a Mallorca backline that has recorded a solitary shutout on their travels this season, shipping 2+ goals in each of their previous six.
Mallorca, who are now managed by ex-Bayern Munich and Manchester City defender Martin Demichelis, have scored 40 goals across their opening 32 La Liga clashes this season, with 13 (33%) of them coming on their travels.
The Pirates have found the back of the net in 24 (75%) of their league outings this term – scoring two or more goals in four of their past six – and will look to trouble an Alaves defence that has kept just three clean sheets all season, shipping multiple goals in seven of their past eight.

Bet of the Day
Deportivo Alaves’s opening 32 La Liga fixtures this term have averaged 2.63 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score landing in 20 (63%) of them – including in each of their last six and 12 of their past 15 – as well as in 7/8 (88%) of their home clashes against fellow bottom-half sides.
Mallorca’s opening 32 La Liga clashes this term have averaged 2.78 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score landing in 21 (66%) of them – including in five of their past six – whilst 7/8 (88%) of their trips to teams ninth and below have also featured goals at both ends.
Therefore, goals at both ends stand out in the Basque Country on Saturday afternoon.
