After frustratingly falling a goal short in Eindhoven on Wednesday, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on MD8 in the league phase of the Europa League, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Ludogorets will look to clinch a playoff place in the Europa League on Thursday night as they welcome already-eliminated Nice to the Huvepharma Arena in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Per-Mathias Hogmo’s hosts have scored 11 goals across their seven league phase fixtures this term, with six (55%) of them coming across their last two at home.
The Eagles have only blanked at home to Real Betis and away at Rangers in the league phase this term – striking multiple goals in four of the other five encounters – and will be confident of breaching a Nice back line that has failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their seven league phase fixtures, shipping 14 goals.
Claude Puel’s visitors have scored just seven goals across their seven league phase fixtures this campaign, with three (43%) of them coming in their maiden win over the Go Ahead Eagles last week.
Despite their struggles in Europe, Les Aiglons have only failed to score against Primeira Liga pair Porto (3-0) and Braga (0-1) in the league phase, and they will look to branch a Ludogorets backline that has also yet to keep a clean sheet in the league phase this term, shipping 2+ goals in five of their last six.

Ludogorets’s seven league phase fixtures this season have averaged an eye-catching 3.71 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in five (71%) of them, including in four of their past five (2-3, 1-3, 3-2, 3-3 & 0-1).
Nice’s opening seven league phase encounters this campaign have averaged exactly three goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in six (86%) of them.
Neither of these two teams have managed a clean sheet in the league phase of the Europa League this term – but given they are more than capable at the other end – I’m anticipating a high-scoring encounter in Razgrad on Thursday night.
