Football Bet of the Day

After returning to winning ways in Stockholm on Tuesday, Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Spanish Segunda, and I’ve highlighted one side that I’m keen to get onside.

⚽️ Burgos CF vs Cueta

🇪🇸 Segunda Division

⏰ Wednesday 31 March, 19:00

Two clubs in the hunt for promotion from the Spanish Segunda meet at the Estadio El Plantio on Wednesday as fifth-placed Burgos entertain poor-travelling Cueta in a fixture that I’m keen to get the in-form hosts onside.

Burgos’s fine run of form continued at the weekend, as they scored in stoppage time to win 0-1 away at relegation-threatened Real Valladolid.

Luis Miguel Ramis’s hosts have now won four and drawn one of their previous five league outings (W4-D1-L0) – keeping clean sheets in each of those encounters – moving them up to fifth in the Segunda table, two points clear of seventh-placed Las Palmas and just five off the automatic promotion places.

The Blanquinegros are also in the midst of a seven-game unbeaten run in front of their supporters, winning five of their previous six (W5-D1-L0).

Cueta put a halt to their three-match losing run at the weekend, as they won 2-1 at home to relegation-threatened Cadiz, leaving them in ninth position, four points outside of the playoff places.

Whilst Jose Juan Romero’s hosts boast the fourth-best home record in the division, they possess the third-worst away record, picking up just 13 points from a possible 48 (W3-D4-L9), losing five of their previous six (W1-D0-L5).

Bet of the Day

As alluded to, Burgos arrive into this clash in good form, picking up 13 points from the last 15 available (W4-D1-L0), shutting out their opponents in each of those clashes.

What’s more, the Blanquinegros have won five of their last six at home (W5-D1-L0), and I’m backing them to collect another maximum against a poor-travelling Cueta side that lost five of their past six road trips, and all five away to teams currently positioned in sixth and above.
