The Spanish football elite had the weekend off so that the Copa del Rey final could receive maximum attention and viewership. But the top flight returns with a full midweek round, with four games scheduled for Tuesday.
Osasuna and Athletic Bilbao face off in a crucial match for their European ambitions, and later Girona and Real Betis will do the same. Real Madrid, meanwhile, will try to put their Champions League elimination behind them with a win over relegation-threatened Alaves.
Head down below for our expert tips and predictions for all four La Liga games on Tuesday.
Today’s La Liga betting tips & predictions
Athletic Bilbao vs. Osasuna (6pm)
Athletic Bilbao and Osasuna are both in roughly similar poor form, although the home team has suffered a few more losses recently. Still, their chances of qualifying for Europe are very real, as they are four and five points behind the top six.
Athletic’s home form this season is far from what we’re used to seeing, but it might help them that Osasuna are one of the four worst away teams in the league.
At the same time, however, Osasuna have played their best away games in recent months, and nearly every away match has featured goals. We like the idea of a draw, but for now we’ll stick with BTTS.

Mallorca vs. Valencia (6pm)
The battle at the bottom of the table is extremely tight, and this match between Valencia and Mallorca feels like a mini-final in the fight for survival.
The teams have had nearly identical seasons so far, so we believe that current form carries the most weight. And that favors Mallorca, especially when it comes to home games.
The Pirates have won six of their last nine home matches, including the last three. Valencia, on the other hand, recently lost on the road against two of the three teams at the bottom. We’ll take a chance on a narrow win for Mallorca.
Mallorca vs. Valencia top betting tip: Mallorca to win
Girona vs. Real Betis (8:30pm)
La Liga has been so competitive this season that Girona are currently as far from European qualification as they are from the relegation zone. However, they can make a serious push for a top-six finish if they beat Real Betis, who are in terrible form.
The hosts have certainly impressed in their last few matches, beating several teams from the top half of the table and earning a draw against Real Madrid on the road. Betis haven’t won a La Liga match in over two months, and lately they’ve been drawing far too often.
The last eight matches between Girona and Betis have featured goals at both ends. Additionally, the visitors have won four of their last five away trips to Estadio Municipal de Montilivi. We believe Girona can win this time, but we’ll stick with BTTS once again.

Real Madrid vs. Alaves (8:30pm)
The title race isn't over yet, but Real Madrid's two-game winless streak has definitely tipped the scales in Barcelona's favor. Now they host Alaves, who desperately need points in their fight for survival.
In fact, Real Madrid haven’t won in four consecutive matches across all competitions, and their defence is the main problem. They’ve conceded at least one goal in nine of their last 10 matches.
Alaves is a far more modest team, but they’ve been scoring a lot of goals lately—a total of 12 in their last five matches. We expect them to capitalize on Los Blancos’ dip in form and score here as well, but we’d rather bet on over 2.5 goals.
