The Champions League returns in full force with two evenly matched clashes on Tuesday, though one of the two will attract far more interest.
We’re talking about Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich—the most-played match in the history of European club competitions. But we shouldn’t overlook Sporting vs. Arsenal, especially given the rich history between the two teams over the past few years.
Keep reading for our expert tips and predictions for both Champions League matches on Tuesday.
Today’s Champions League betting tips & predictions
Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich (8pm)
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are set to face off once again—their 29th meeting in UEFA competitions. Two years ago, Los Blancos managed to eliminate the Bavarians in the Champions League semifinals, but at first glance, the German giants seem to have the better chances this time around.
Each of the last seven matches between Real and Bayern has featured goals at both ends and over 2.5 goals. We’re unlikely to see anything different on Tuesday, given the firepower of both squads.
We don’t recommend picking a winner here, because this match is simply too evenly matched and fully deserving of being a tournament final.
If you’re looking for an alternative to goals, you might want to focus on corners, given the similarities in playing styles and the strong wingers on both sides. The two legs from 2024 featured 11 and 12 corners.
Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich top betting tip: BTTS & Over 2.5 goals, Over 9.5 corners
Sporting CP vs. Arsenal (8pm)
Arsenal suffered yet another setback over the weekend. Before the international break, they lost the EFL Cup final, and now they’ve been knocked out of the FA Cup as well—by a second-division team.
It is still possible for them to have the strongest season in their history by winning the Premier League and the Champions League, but standing in their way is a motivated Sporting side that hasn’t lost at home since January. We can also recall their 2-1 victory over reigning champions PSG in an earlier stage of the tournament.
Arsenal won 5-1 at this stadium just over a year ago, and it’s quite likely they’ll win again now, given their strong squad and depth, and despite the recent upsets.
But we don’t expect anything more than a 2-1 win, and we’d rather lean toward Both Teams to Score rather than a winner. The teams also met twice in 2023, with each of the last three H2Hs featuring goals at both ends.
