The fixture card looks like it could be decimated this weekend but that’s not put off the guys at Gambla who have done their best to pick their way through the fixtures in England, Scotland, Germany and Italy. First up is the original Gambla Betting Podcast with Selectabet and Greg Browning who are joined by Scottish Football data expert Colin […]

Friday night’s offering from the Championship sees bottom of the table Barnsley welcome promotion chasing West Brom to Oakwell. Just two wins all season and a league low of just 15 goals in 22 games makes it difficult to find any angle in support of the Tykes but the Baggies need to overcome a 71-year Oakwell hoodoo which stretches back […]

The chase is on for Liverpool and Chelsea tonight as the fixtures come thick and fast this month. Both Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel have bemoaned the volume of fixtures in December and might have looked at tonight’s fixtures as an opportunity to give some players a breather, but after Man City extended their lead at the top of the […]

Manchester City threw down the gauntlet to the chasing pack with a thumping 7-0 win over Leeds United last night. As well well as moving four points clear of Liverpool and five of Chelsea they did their goal difference no harm in the process. We’ll need to wait until tomorrow night to see how the title challengers respond with Chelsea […]

IT’S looking more and more likely that the festive period’s football will be disrupted with postponements, and the latest to be called off is tonight’s clash between Brentford and Manchester United. The Premier League has reported a record number of positives tests over a seven day period with six clubs affected so far. Hopefully everyone involved is OK and disruption […]

European football may be over for 2021 but there’s one final act before the new year and all eyes will be on Nyon this morning for the knock-out stage draws in the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League. Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea will learn their opponents in the Champions League and the nature of the […]

WEST HAM have arguably been team of the season so far in the Premier League. David Moyes’ side sit proudly in fourth and are currently the best of the rest outside the country’s top three. Wins against Chelsea and Liverpool prove that the Hammers are no flash in the pan and they’ve a chance to re-establish a three point lead […]

The top three in the Premiership are all in action on Saturday and the treble of wins pay just over 4/5. First up are Man City who host Wolves at the Etihad. Visitors Wolves have scored just 12 in 15 and just one goal in their last five so City to win to nil appeals at 4/6 considering theyre just […]

Games are rarely meaningless for Celtic or Rangers but both of their matches tonight are dead rubbers in the Europa League. The Gers have already secured a place in the next round of the Europa and cannot catch tonight’s opponents Lyon, while Celtic need to settle for a place in the Europa Conference despite a promising campaign. This evening’s game […]

Last night’s Champions League might not have had too much riding on them but they still delivered the goods in terms of goals. 30 scored across the eight matches and each of them seeing Over 1.5 goals as tipped here yesterday at 3/1 with Bet365. It could be a similar story tonight with a mix of games that are more […]

Eleven of the 16 berths in the knock-out stages have already been claimed so the final matchday of the group stages is all about which five takes will take up the other places in the draw and who’ll finish first in each group. Those already through and top of their group are Ajax, Bayern, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United. […]

Everton’s slide down the table continued this weekend and they’ve not even kicked a ball yet. Points picked up by Leeds and Southampton pushed the Toffees down to 16th in table, just five points above the relegation zone so it’s no wonder the natives are restless on the blue half of Merseyside. However, Rafa Benitez’s men have the chance to […]

Ralf Rangnick takes charge of his first game as interim manager at Manchester United where Crystal Palace are the visitors. Michael Carrick left Old Trafford on Thursday having seemingly steadied the ship under his brief tenure and has presented the German with a much more positive position to start from than a few weeks ago but Palace could be tricky […]

Liverpool tore Everton apart in the early stages of the Merseyside Derby before running out 4-1 winners and it’s Wolves’ turn today to try to tame Jurgen Klopp’s red machine. The Reds are averaging over three goals per game in the league and have scored four or more five times in the league already this season. Mo Salah is in […]

A year ago today we lost our leader here on the site, Paul Jain (Mr Fixit). It’s a day to remember the great legacy he left for us on the site but also to spare a thought for his family who will be mourning the loss of their father, husband, son and brother on the anniversary of his passing. Paul […]

Michael Carrick appears to have stopped the rot for Manchester United with a win at Villarreal and a creditable draw at Stamford Bridge and he’ll still be in charge tonight at Old Trafford while Ralf Rangnick awaits his work permit. Carrick showed his managerial mettle by relegating Cristiano Ronaldo to the bench for Sunday’s draw with Chelsea. The Portuguese hitman […]

The midweek Premier League card continues on a busy Wednesday night with six matches in the top flight, as well as a quartet of games in the Scottish Premiership, EFL Cup action a full card in Ligue 1 and a bunch of games in Serie A. Everton fans must be fearful ahead of tonight’s Merseyside Derby. The Toffees are winless […]

Tonight kicks-off a midweek of action on Amazon Prime with two matches live from the Premier League. Both teams could do with a win at St James’ Park where the bottom two sides meet. Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are the only side yet to record a victory in the top flight this season and defeat to Norwich City would put […]

The heady heights of third-place in the table awaits QPR tonight if they can win at Derby County, live on Sky Sports. Derby may be rooted to to bottom spot thanks to their points deductions but there’s plenty to be positive about on the pitch for Wayne Rooney’s side. Only three teams in the Championship have lost fewer matches (5) […]

The only show in town yesterday was, of course, at Holm Park where Clydebank knocked League One side Clyde out of the Scottish Cup! Mr Fixit would’ve been in his element and you wouldn’t have been to wipe the grin off his face tonight. It was a fitting result at a time when our thoughts are beginning to turn to […]

Liverpool are the only top four team in action on Saturday so they’ve a chance to move in to second place with a win over Southampton. The Saints have failed to score in their last five visits to Anfield and have lost the last four to a 12-0 aggregate score so they don’t generally enjoy trips to Merseyside but the […]

IT’S Firhill for Thrills on Friday night as the Scottish Cup takes centre stage. Two former winners of the famous old trophy meet in what should be a cracking match in the west end of Glasgow. Partick Thistle are the form team in the Championship and are unbeaten in eight in the league (W6 D2). Visitors Dunfermline are resurgent under […]

IT’S crunch time for Celtic and Rangers in Europe tonight as they both battle for their Europa League lives. The Hoops are in Germany where they’ll likely need to take something from the match against Bayer Leverkusen given group rivals Real Betis are short favourites to beat bottom of the group Ferencvaros in Seville. A draw or a win would […]

At first glance Liverpool look a huge price at 21/20 (SBK) to beat Porto, too good to be true you could say? Probably. The Reds have already booked their place in the last 16 and secure top spot in the group so it’s dead rubber as far as the six-time European champions are concerned. With a packed December ahead it’s […]

Manchester United are in limbo as they face Spaniards Villarreal tonight in a match that will go a long to determining their European fate this season. A win would see them secure qualification by virtue of a better head-to-head against tonight’s opponents, who would only be able to match United’s points tally at best. Defeat on on the other hand […]
