After a slow start to the season Wolves are threatening the top half of the table and a win tonight would see them leapfrog opponents Manchester United in to 9th.

Gary O’Neil’s side have only been beaten twice at Molineux and not since a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool back in September, so it’s now eight matches since they lost league match on home soil (W5 D3).

Erik ten Hag seems to be continually fire-fighting these days. Marcus Rashford is the latest enfant terrible to cause him trouble and the England internationalist will be missing tonight after going AWOL. On the field things haven’t been much better this season. They’re winless in their last four on the road, suffering defeats at Forest, West Ham and Newcastle.

The bookies can’t separate the sides and have it as a toss of the coin at 13/8 with the draw at 5/2. The stats suggest that Wolves deserve backing more than the visitors.

The night’s other match in the Premier League sees West Ham host Bournemouth and it looks a difficult one to call. The Hammers are unbeaten in five (W3 D2) whilst Bournemouth’s only defeats in their last 11 have come against Manchester City, Spurs and Liverpool.

The sides drew 1-1 back in August and it could be an equally close encounter at the London Stadium this evening.

Jarrod Bowen has scored in West Ham’s last three at home and scored in that 1-1 draw against the Cherries. He 2/1 to net tonight. Dominic Solanke also scored on that occasion and is now on 14 goals for the season. He’s 13/8 to get his name on the scoresheet.

In the last 10 encounters between Wolves & Manchester United, United have won 7, drawn 2 and lost once. In the last 5 games played between the 2 sides at Molineux, United have won the last 3 & drawn 2 (that’s no loses). Wee Joe if you think Wolves will win tonight that’s OK; however some of us are of the opinion that “form is temporary, but class is permanent”. I know my OMG comment might not go down as I wished but its all meant to be a bit of fun. I’d like to finish this discussion with what I think the best advise is, most people wouldn’t bet on this match because its very difficult to predict the result, maybe this is the game when United put the show back on the road or maybe Wolves’ good form will continue???

The reason why most people won’t be touching this game is it could go any which way , no ones got a clue which United will turn up.

Deano86, it’s a hard one to predict. For the United manager, it’s like one man against the rest of the world and when it’s like that every “gobshite” wades in with their 2 pence worth. He’s the best in the world and when your that good there is always value in hitting him when he’s down (they think it makes them look good). Good luck to him and United tonight it should be a belter.

I met Gerrard in ’95. I just played with the Crystal Palace 1st team and tore it up. I scored from the half way line after being on the pitch for 10 minutes and was dribbling the ball with pure class (similar to Maradona the coaches said). We chatted for some time and he told me that I was a fantastic player and I played the game very similar to him thats why Liverpool weren’t interested in me. He said that after I didn’t sign a pro contract, that football wasn’t that good anymore. Carragher was with him, he was built like the back of a bus, Stephen and I were little lads really. I faced Carragher one on one and I took the big guy down the line, he matched me for pace so I tried to shoulder charge him, in the end nothing happened I would have won a corner. Gerrard and I chatted some more and he showed me a few free kicks everyone was in the corner, the top corner perfect. I was probabaly better but Stephen told me that most of the players who make their way through youth team football are told when they are 6 that they will be selected to play senior football. When I played at Arsenal in ’86 that was my most likely chance to play in the big leagues. He told me that Joe Cole was the best youth team player he had played against. He told me that he just played against West Ham and he was beast, he said they signed Cole as a 15 year old and the raw talent and skill he produced was unbelievable. Gerrard knew he was going to be the best but that was the kind of guy he was.

Every else is under 3/1 so guessing its meant to be 13/5 instead of 13/2. They usually honour the bet too. He’s just back from disciplinary suspension too but definitely shouldn’t be that big. 2nd most player carded for Real Madrid with 5 cards
