The lead at the top of the Premier League is getting passed around like a cigarette in a sixth-year common room. Three teams have occupied the top spot in the last 24 hours and from a neutral perspective let's hope it remains this competitive from now until the end of the season.
Both Manchester sides obliged on Wednesday to bring up the Deadly Double at just over even-money and it's United who regained top spot after a 2-1 win over Fulham.
City did their bit with a hard earned 2-0 win at home to Aston Villa and things keep ticking along nicely with Liverpool in action on Thursday.
It's unlikely that many punters would've been on Celtic at Livingston given their poor record there and both sides' recent form so it was no real surprise to see the game finish level but the big upset of the night came in the Copa Del Rey where Real Madrid were bounced out of the competition by third division outfit Alcoyano – who were down to 10 men. Zinedine Zidane might be calling Neil Lennon soon for advice on how to keep his job!
Thursday's Tips
So on to Thursday and Liverpool have somehow arrived at the stage where they can't afford to drop any points since eveyone around them keeps on winning. They shouldn't have too many difficulties agianst Burnley although Sean Dyche's men did come away from Anfield with a 1-1 draw on their last visit in July, ending Liverpool's 100% home record, but of course the league title was already in the bag by that point.
The Reds have failed to score in their last three and haven't gone four league games without a goal for 21 years. Burnley to keep a clean sheet is a massive 10/1 at Bet365.

Sydney v central coast mariners
Mariners come into this one in the rare position of being above Sydney in the table, they’ve started the season well by their standards but I can’t see them getting anything from the sky blues tomorrow despite having an ok record in the last 5 meetings at Sydney. Couple of narrow defeats couple of 1-1s and just the 1 hosing. However I’m on the home men to win by a couple tomorrow with the added insurance of stake back if they only squeak it by 1. They’ve had a stop start campaign so far with a game then a 2 week break then a game but they should be alright now with this game coming after last weeks derby. Kuol and Simon have picked up cards the last 2 matches for the mariners and I fancy them to get themselves into a bit of bother again they are never far away from any action, Simon throws himself into everything up front, and kicks everything above the grass, kuol is also a forward, he’s extremely clumsy and most of the time his 2nd touch is a tackle, but for the NB I’m going for team bookings and I’ll be having a wee punt on them as a double. Not certain kuol will start so if he doesn’t I’ll be looking at one of the mariners back 4, and I’ve plumped for ruon tongyik. He’s a big centre half and will be up against some serious pace in the shape of buhagier and barbarouses.
