First goalscorer predictions

Hibs and Dundee United both claimed excellent results on the road in Europe last week and will be out to finish the job at home in the Conference League qualifiers tonight.

I thought both Scottish teams would lose in the first leg, with Hibs running a Belgrade gauntlet against Partizan and United taking on a Rapid Vienna side who reached the quarter-finals last season.

But David Gray's men claimed a 2-0 win against 10-man Partizan and Jim Goodwin's side twice came from behind to claim a 2-2 draw in Austria.

That has left them in a great position but it's still not job done as they head into the second legs.

Hibernian vs Partizan Belgrade top betting tips

After such an impressive win in the first leg, Hibs are just 1/20 with BoyleSports to qualify, although the price increases to a decent 20/21 if you back them for a win on the night.

There's no doubt Gray's side were helped last week by Vukasin Durdevic's red card 10 minutes before half-time, with Martin Boyle scoring the opener just five minutes later.

Partizan carved out plenty of chances before going a man down and have no option but to attack in Edinburgh tonight. That should lead to goals at both ends and combining BTTS with over 2.5 goals pays 10/11.

There's a bit more value in backing Partizan corners as they need to be on the front foot to stand any chance of going through. Over 4.5 corners for the Serbs pays evens at BoyleSports.

Dundee United vs Rapid Vienna

Tannadice will be rocking tonight as Dundee United look to claim a notable scalp by knocking Rapid Vienna out of the UEFA Conference League.

Goodwin's side upset the odds in Austria last week and deserved their 2-2 draw after an excellent performance. But they conceded a further three goals at home to Hearts on Sunday and will need to be more solid at the back to prevail tonight.

Despite being away from home, Rapid Vienna are 7/10 favourites with BoyleSports for a win inside 90 minutes tonight. I've got a feeling they will break United's hearts and adding on over 1.5 goals boosts the odds to 11/10.

Goodwin looks to have found a gem in Croatian winger Ivan Dolcek. He scored twice against the Jambos on Sunday and could be worth a long-odds punt for another goal tonight at 5/1 with SkyBet.

Shakhtar Donetsk vs Panathinaikos

The pick of tonight's Europa League qualifiers sees Shakhtar Donetsk take on Panathinaikos, with the tie in the balance after a 0-0 draw in Athens last week.

Poor finishing cost Panathinaikos in their Champions League qualifier with Rangers and they could now be left to rue drawing a blank with home advantage last week.

This second leg is being played at a neutral venue due to the conflict in Ukraine but BoyleSports still make Shakhtar 4/6 favourites tonight.

They outclassed Beskitas in the last round so the Ukrainian giants should be too good for Panathinaikos. Combining a Shakhtar win with over 1.5 goals pays 11/10 at BoyleSports.

Young Brazilian Kaua Elias has impressed for Shakhtar this season, with four goals in six appearances, and he's a decent 2/1 with William Hill for anytime scorer.

Thursday's Super Singles

  • Over 4.5 Partizan corners Evens BoyleSports
  • Rapid Vienna win and over 1.5 goals 11/10 BoyleSports
  • Shakhtar's Kaua Elias anytime scorer 2/1 William Hill

Long shot

  • Dundee United's Ivan Dolcek to score 5/1 SkyBet

MrFixtsTips was quietly sold to North Star Network in February 2025 for a mid six figure sum.

Based in France, North Star Network have over 85 full time employees – including a full time technical team – who manage the company’s 30+ brand websites. Yet curiously, they don’t seem able to keep a simple WordPress-based website functional ????

    “North Star Network acquires MrFixitsTips.co.uk

North Star Network are proud to announce the acquisition of MrFixitsTips.co.uk as it increases its footprint in the UK market and adds another heritage brand to its sports media portfolio.

With a 14-year legacy of providing tips and predictions content, MrFixitsTips becomes North Star’s second major signing of 2024, following on from the seven-figure acquisition of SportsMole.co.uk, which was announced publicly on Feb. 29.

It now joins existing media properties including Top Mercato, Afrik-Foot, Trivela, Premier League Brasil, and Vringe to expand North Star’s international footprint while giving NSN another power asset focused at a UK audience.

NSN co-founder Julien Josset said: “I want to thank the team at MrFixitsTips for their trust. MrFixitsTips.co.uk is one of the most credible tipster services in the UK. Working closely with the MFT team and our internal experts, we aim to provide more value to the existing community.”

Founded in 2010, MFT has grown to become a recognised multi-sport authority in the sphere of UK betting news and tips.”

      * ERROR: MrFixtsTips was sold to North Star Network in February 2024, not 2025.

Think that goes to show people just how quickly this forum can/will vanish. Because nobody posts anything on the forums from the site the error that has persisted for nearly a week has went unnoticed and the fact there hasn’t been a comment on the site in that time went unnoticed because there’s no interaction and goes to show nobody is bothered wether people post their tips or not.

Has long been mooted why questions go unanswered and I think we now know why – nobody is reading this from the site anymore.
Not even a mention that something was wrong and was being looked into, everything else just kept going as if it was normal.

This site used to be all about this forum, the main part, the hub for info, interaction, guidance and response. The forum and site exist as two separate entity’s now.

No community. No leadership or involvement from those running the site. I get it, the site must be time consuming and won’t be easy to run, and I appreciate it was continued after Paul’s passing, but it feels like it’s run well enough for a select band of people who get the self promotion of their own page while the users of the forum have been left in the past.

The post above from Chris Bax explains a lot, and slipped under the radar. It seems we are all here by ourselves now!

If this site was being run part-time as a side-project by one guy in Scotland (as it was after Paul’s demise), I could just about understand it, bigwigg.

But it’s been sold for hundreds of thousands to a large Sporting conglomerate with loads of staff, and a full time tech department!

With that amount of investment, you’d think they would be paying a couple of people to Admin this site on full time salaries, wouldn’t you?

      Hi guys,

I’m Barney, the chief editor of North Star’s English language sites, including MFT.

First of all, I wanted to thank you for your continued engagement on these comments threads – please be assured that these comments are read, acknowledged and really valued.

Thank you for your patience during the last week or so while comments were down, and apologies for the inconvenience caused. We have been working hard at fixing the issue since it occurred last Tuesday – it proved to be a complex problem which affected a number of sites, not just MFT, and was an unexpected knock-on effect of a change not directly related to MFT, so it took longer than we’d have liked to first identify, and then resolve.

It’s great to see the comments thread thriving again so soon after the fix and I want to assure you that the community aspect of MFT is absolutely central to our plans moving forward. We know the site wouldn’t be what it is without you guys, and you’re all an important part of where we want the site to go in the future as well.

We’ve taken your feedback on board; having a representative from the site actively engaging with the community is something we will look to improve going forward, and highlighting the forum element of the site more is something we hope to achieve in the coming months.

Thanks again for your continued involvement, and it’s great to have you all back commenting again!

      Cheers,
      Barney

Agree with that, the issue now is those who own it probably couldn’t give two hoots about the likes of you and I and users of this forum.

Explains the pop up adverts I now get constantly and if that kind of money has been spent to purchase the site it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s monetised to a greater degree in some form.

Maybe that`s one of the reasons Hullshaker stopped posting , as he was on the admin in some extent .
