IT'LL be a day of celebration at the Etihad for champions Manchester City after Arsenal's defeat at Nottingham Forest last night.

It's a third successive title for Pep Guardiola's who are two games from winning a remarkable Treble.

Winning the title early gives Guardiola the chance to utilise his squad before the Champions League and FA Cup finals in June and he might opt to do so today, rewarding some of those who outplayed Real Madrid in midweek with the chance to put their feet up.

Phil Foden came off the bench against Real on Wednesday and is likely to start and in a game where City could rack up a few goals, he looks well priced at 11/5 to add to his 14 goals this season.

But regardless who plays this afternoon they should be good enough to underline being champions again with a win over Chelsea.

The Blues have been going through the motions this season and are destined to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League for the first time since 1996.

They've won only one of 17 league matches this season against teams currently in the top half of the table and managed just a single win in the eight games that Frank Lampard has been in charge. Hardly the kind of stats that suggest they'll do anything against Lampard's former club at the Etihad.

City are 1/3 to win, not a bad price for the big-hitters. For a bit more value consider the win to nil at 5/4. It's not something City have done too often this season though – just six in their 18 home games – but they have kept three clean sheets in their last five and Chelsea haven't exactly been scoring for fun under Lampard – just seven in eight games.

20/21 on City to be winning at half-time and full-time also appeals. They've done this more than any other side this season, in over 50% of their games.

All eyes will be on West Ham v Leeds Utd at the bottom of the table. The Hammers will still be on a high after booking a place in the Europa Conference League final on Thursday and it would take a series of extraordinary results to see them relegated from the Premier League. For a start they'd need to lose heavily to Leeds who are six points and 11 goals worse off than their opponents.

Best bet could be on goals at the London Stadium. Both teams have scored in each of Leeds' last 11 Premier League matches, the joint-longest spell in their history. In fact Leeds boast the most BTTS matches of the campaign with 67% of games seeing each side find the net. Another BTTS match is priced at 8/13.

    West Ham v Leeds
    Over 2.5 goals at 4/5
    Over 3.5 goals at 11/5
Leeds have to go for the win here, nothing else will do. Everton have Bournemouth at home in their last fixture of the season whilst Leeds face Spurs. If Leeds are to get anything from this game then you’d expect them to need to score more than 1 goal, West Ham should score which should bring the overs in.

Hoping City don’t relax to much this afternoon after winning the title.
    Best of luck

    Hibs v Rangers

Hibs to score a penalty 15/2
Hibs to miss a penalty 25/1

    (both Hills prices)

This is basically a Rangers to concede a penalty bet. Why now? after 52 league games (a run that stretched back to January LAST year) ? Well, there’s the law of averages things of course, but that’s never a good strategy in gambling. But you would think now the league is done, the refs (and VAR) might actually feel free to make decisions without fear, and they might also be thinking that by awarding a pen or two now, that’ll pad out the embarrassing stats a little. But maybe that’s just being cynical ?‍♂️

In any case, the price looks decent enough for a bet.

    Afternoon longshot ??

FK Buducnost Podgorica v FK Jezero
    17:00
    Montenegrin Prva Liga

    BTTS 5-4 SKYBET ??

Home team top and need to win to cement top spot.
Away team need a point or 2 to stay out of the relegation spots.
Don’t think it will be a hammering despite the difference in class.

Main reason for this is jezero have scored in their last 6 visits here since December 2020 and in 11 of 12 head to heads home/away during this period

    Prediction 2-1

      Nice one Trev.

On a side note I believe your new manager Ian Dawes is a
      Former Bangor city coach.
Do you know much about him, he didn’t uproot any trees when he was with us.

Also another former Bangor manager Nigel Adkins is involved there, he did uproot some trees, won the league of Wales as player coach back in the 90s and went on to manage Southampton among others, top bloke he is.
Owner mark palios a former Bangor player back in the 80s.

There been a long association between our clubs especially in our northern premier League days.

Unfortunately we went bust and had to start again in tier 5 but we’ve got a play off in prestatyn next Saturday to get back to tier 2 so hopefully better times ahead.

Good luck next season whatever Trev ?

      3
    • Kev_Trfc 3 years ago

I think we chose Dawes as he’s our long term assistant manager and cheapest option, mate, and the Palio’s investment plan money has now run a bit dry.

Sadly most of us aren’t positive about next Season with Dawes, he’s not a bad guy, knows his stuff, but he just lacks the ingredients to get us out of League 2. My guess is Dawes gets sacked after 10-15 games, then Adkins decides he will take the job on until end of Season, he’ll get a tune out of us and get us in the Playoffs and then hopefully goes on to become a Tranmere great ?

Good luck against Prestatyn ?you guys deserve a bit of luck. It can be a cruel game for the fans when the wrong owners get involved. Bangor have always been spoken highly of in Wirral. ?

    • elvis parsley 3 years ago

It’s v cefn Albion in prestatyn, be a good day out and hopefully a happy one Trev ?

      Match postponed ?

  26. maccathered 3 years ago

A heads for next weekend Premier League
    Man Utd v Fulham
    Fulham double chance at 13/8
    Fulham to win at 11/2
Man Utd play Chelsea Thursday night and you’d expect United to win that one. If Man Utd do win that game then they will 100% rest players for the f.a cup 6 days later against City. If United are to stand any chance of beating City then they need fresh players, Fulham will want revenge for the f.a Cup tie so will be up for it and again United won’t want to risk any injuries. Once the Chelsea game finishes the odds will drop on Fulham that’s why i’m posting early.

    3
    • maccathered 3 years ago

Just to add United can’t rotate to the same strength as their best eleven.

    • AsotosYios 3 years ago

Just to add that we will beat our previous points total in the Premier League with a win and Silva mentioned it as a goal a couple of weeks ago. As you mentioned, we definitely want revenge for the FA Cup game – I might also have a small bet on Mitrovic scoring.

Mcathered, i suppose if we are relying on manu to beat chelsea on thursday it would make sense to back manu against chelsea and fulham in a double at the same time?

    1
    • maccathered 3 years ago

United only need a point on Thursday so for that reason i’m not advising them to beat Chelsea although they should.
