Premier League betting tips

The first Manchester derby of the season takes centre stage on Super Sunday and all eyes will be on Old Trafford for a clash of the titans.

Enzo Maresca has kicked off his Etihad reign with four successive wins since losing in the Community Shield but now faces his toughest task yet as he heads across town to battle the Red Devils.

It should be a tasty main course but there's also an appetising starter as Coventry City bid for their first Premier League points at home to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Here's how our top tipsters see today's action panning out in England's top flight…

Sunday's Premier League betting tips and predictions

Coventry City vs Brighton and Hove Albion (14:00)

Coventry v Brighton

Tipster: The Betting Desk

Coventry City are back in the top flight for the first time since 2001 but things haven't gone to plan so far, with Frank Lampard's side losing all three games.

They'll be hoping to get off the mark in front of a home crowd but it won't be easy against a dangerous Brighton and Hove Albion side who have amassed four points from their first three outings.

Tip one: Brighton to win

Coventry City have yet to score so far in the Premier League this season while Brighton's tally already stands at eight. That superior firepower should give the Seagulls the edge and they're 10/11 for a win.

Tip two: Brighton to score over 1.5 goals

Fabian Hurzeler's men are averaging 2.28 xG, 13 shots inside the box and five big chances per match so it could pay to back them for over 1.5 goals in this game at 16/19.

Tip three: Both teams to score

Brighton have conceded five goals across their last two matches so this may be the game where Coventry break their Premier League duck. Backing BTTS pays 7/10.

Manchester United vs Manchester City (16:30)

Manchester United v Manchester City

Tipster: Greg McLean

Manchester City haven't really missed legendary manager Pep Guardiola so far, with Maresca winning all four of his competitive games since taking the reins.

They haven't been totally convincing though and City will face a stiff test against a Manchester United side who have gone three games unbeaten since a shock loss at Hull on day one.

Tip one: Bruno Fernandes to score or assist

The Manchester United skipper is averaging a goal a game this season and all four of his strikes have come in games at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese playmaker also claimed a record-breaking 21 Premier League assists last season so he looks good value at 20/21 to score or set one up in the derby.

Tip two: Erling Haaland to score anytime

Manchester City's goal machine has a great record in this fixture, grabbing eight goals across his eight derby appearances so far.

The big Norwegian has also started this season like a train, with a midweek double against Porto taking his tally to five.

He's 4/5 for another strike against Manchester United and that looks worth a punt based on those stats.
