Today's FA Cup betting tips and predictions

Birmingham vs. Leeds United (12pm)

Birmingham v Leeds

Tipster: Neil Potter

Birmingham City host Leeds United at St Andrew’s on Sunday afternoon in the FA Cup, as the current League One champions take on the reigning Championship winners in a tie that brings together two ambitious clubs at different stages of their development.

Tip 1: Over 2.5 goals

Over 2.5 goals stands out in this FA Cup meeting because both teams are producing open games, strong attacking output and consistent scoring patterns in recent weeks.

Birmingham’s eight-game unbeaten run has included goals at both ends. They beat Cambridge United 3-2 in the previous round and have been involved in high-energy contests throughout their recent stretch. Across their last 10 league games, Championship sides in similar form have shown elevated over 2.5 trends, and Birmingham’s push toward the playoff places has been built on proactive football rather than risk avoidance. At home they have lost only once in 16, which encourages an aggressive approach rather than containment.

Leeds’ recent matches further support the angle. Their 2-2 draw at Chelsea featured four goals and highlighted both attacking quality and defensive vulnerability. Since early January they have lost just once in six matches in all competitions, and that sequence includes the 3-1 FA Cup win at Derby. In their last 10 Premier League fixtures, over 2.5 goals has landed in 50%, while both teams to score has appeared in 60%. Leeds have scored 15 and conceded 11 in that spell, an average of 2.6 total goals per game.

Tip 2: BTTS and over 1.5 cards

Tomoki Iwata averages 1.3 fouls per match across 30 Championship appearances, but that baseline masks how often he clears the two-foul line. He has committed two or more fouls in 13 of those 30 starts, including four against Leicester and three in matches versus West Brom, Coventry, Swansea and Oxford.

In recent weeks his defensive workload has increased. He made three fouls away at Swansea, three at Oxford and four at home to Leicester, all games where Birmingham faced sustained pressure. Across 2,664 minutes he has been heavily involved in duels, drawing 26 fouls himself and collecting seven yellow cards.

With Leeds carrying pace in wide and central areas, Iwata’s role in breaking transitions points toward another high contact outing and at least two fouls committed.

Grimsby Town vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers (1.30pm)

Grimsby v Wolves

Tipster: Kevin Mac

Grimsby have already claimed a Premier League scalp this season and will be hoping lightning strikes twice when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup fourth round.

Tip 1: Matheus Mane goal or assist

Wonderkid Matheus Mane has been in fine form for Wolves and he could make the difference in this cup tie. He's evens at Bet365 for a goal or assist which looks good value, provided he isn't rested.

Tip 2: Wolves win and over 2.5 goals

With the Premier League such a short price it's hard finding value but combining a Wolves win with over 2.5 goals pays a decent 21/20 at William Hill.

Tip 3: Over 10 corners

Grimsby won six corners in that famous victory over Manchester United so there could be some value in backing over 10 match corners at 11/10 with Bet365.

Stoke City vs. Fulham (2pm)

Stoke v Fulham

Tipster: Greg MacLean

Fulham face a potentially tricky trip to the Potteries to take on Championship side Stoke in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

Tip 1: Under 2.5 goals

Stoke’s opening nine matches in league and cup since the turn of the year have averaged just 1.33 goals per game, with Under 2.5 Goals being profitable in eight (89%) of those clashes, and a repeat pays an appealing 1/1 at bet365.

Tip 2: Harry Wilson to score or assist

Harry Wilson has enjoyed a tremendous season for Fulham so far this campaign, as he has scored eight goals and provided four assists across his 25 Premier League appearances.

The Welshman also came off the bench to score one and set one up against Middlesbrough in the previous round, and the 21/20 on offer at bet365 for him to Score or Assist appeals to me.

Oxford United vs. Sunderland (2pm)

Tipster: Grant Heaney

Sunderland will look to avoid being on the wrong end of an FA Cup shock when they travel to Oxford United on Sunday afternoon in the fourth round.

Tip 1: Sunderland to win

Backing Sunderland to win at the aforementioned 8/11 on Betfair looks more than fair, given the gulf in class between the two sides.

Across their previous 11 encounters, Sunderland lead the head-to-head with five wins to Oxford’s single triumph, while the other five fixtures finished level.

Tip 2: Over 1.5 Sunderland goals

However, an alternative angle that offers value is to side with the visitors to score two or more goals at even-money (1/1) on PaddyPower.

As already mentioned, Oxford have lost three of their last four English Championship matches, conceding multiple goals in each of those defeats.

Tip 3: Brian Brobbey to score or assist

With three goals across his last seven Premier League appearances, Brian Brobbey looks well-placed for a goal or an assist against lower league opposition on Sunday at 11/10 on bet365.

Arsenal vs. Wigan Athletic (4.30pm)

Arsenal v Wigan

Tipster: Greg MacLean

Arsenal will look to keep their quadruple hopes alive as they welcome 2013 winners Wigan Athletic to the Emirates on Sunday afternoon in their fourth-round FA Cup tie.

Tip 1: Gabriel Martinelli to score anytime

Gabriel Martinelli has scored 10 goals for Arsenal this season, with nine of those coming in cup competitions.

The Brazilian scored a hat trick in the previous round against Portsmouth, and the 13/10 on offer at bet365 for him to score on Sunday appeals to me.

Tip 2: Arsenal -3.0 Asian Handicap

With the Gunners incredibly short to back, finding value is tough, with an Arsenal Win to Nil paying just 1/2.

Arsenal -3.0 Asian Handicap pays 17/20 at bet365, giving us the safety blanket of getting our stake back should Mikel Arteta’s men only win by a three-goal margin.
