There are no fewer than five La Liga fixtures on the cards this Sunday, but all eyes will be on the Madrid derby.

Getafe vs. Malaga (1pm)
No one is surprised by Malaga's poor start, but Getafe's position at the bottom of the table is certainly surprising given their strong previous season and the fact that they will soon be playing in the Conference League.
Defensive problems are one thing, but the main issue is that neither team is scoring goals. After six rounds, both Getafe and Malaga have scored just three goals.
However, we mustn’t overlook the fact that Getafe remain a fairly solid side at home and are yet to lose. In their head-to-head record, they’ve also recorded five consecutive home wins against Malaga.

Atletico Madrid vs. Real Madrid (3:15pm)
Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid are, as usual, battling it out at the top, but following their recent slip-ups, they can’t afford any more mistakes at this stage of the season. A win here will be crucial, as the losing side could find themselves well behind Barcelona, who are flying high.
The important thing for all fans, especially neutral spectators, is that both teams go into the match in top scoring form, having scored seven goals each in their last two matches.
The big question, of course, is who will win. In my view, Real Madrid have the stronger mentality at the moment and are more hungry for success following their recent setbacks. But in any case, we can expect goals, just as in every previous match between the two sides.

La Coruna vs. Real Betis (5:30pm)
La Coruna recorded their first defeat of the season as late as the sixth matchday, which is certainly a source of pride following their long-awaited return to the top flight.
But now they face a home fixture against Real Betis, who are in top form with five wins from six matches. They have even beaten Real Madrid and Villarreal, so they are clearly capable of anything.
The most impressive aspect of La Coruna's play so far has been their attack, having scored at least once in five of their six matches. Betis’s away fixtures so far have been full of action, so I’m going to focus on the goals.

Villarreal vs. Levante (5:30pm)
Villarreal seem to be playing matches every other day, and now they have another one coming up after finally securing their first win of the season on Thursday.
Levante are in a similarly difficult position in terms of results, with their only good result being that shocking 5–2 home win over Real Betis.
Away from home, however, they have yet to score a goal in three matches, and Villarreal must make the most of this.

Valencia vs. Real Sociedad (8pm)
Valencia will be looking to build on their first win of the season when they host Real Sociedad, who have suffered two heavy defeats in a row over the past seven days.
At the moment, it seems as though Real Sociedad are not on a par with the league’s top sides, as their only decent performances have come against struggling teams or newly promoted sides. Their defence is in dreadful form, having kept just one clean sheet in their first seven matches of the season.
Valencia are in dreadful form in front of goal, but they need to capitalise on any potential mistakes by the visitors, and in my view it’s entirely possible we’ll see a bit more action in this match. Both of their encounters last season saw goals at both ends.
