The Emirates Stadium will play host to an intriguing Champions League quarter-final first leg tie on Tuesday night, as Arsenal entertain Real Madrid.
I’ve already penned a separate match preview on this showdown but I've since identified another player based selection that stands out at the odds on offer.
Vinicius Junior has been priced up at 5/6 with both Betfair and PaddyPower to register a minimum of one shot on target on Tuesday night and that looks too big to ignore.
The Real Madrid superstar is averaging a sizeable 3.22 shots per game in this season’s Champions League.
Dig a little deeper and it can be seen that the Brazilian ace has averaged 1.56 shots on target per 90 in Europe’s premier club competition this term.
It’s also worth noting that Vinicius Junior has racked up a combined total of five shots on target across his five appearances for Real Madrid away from home in this season’s Champions League.
As for the domestic scene, it's a similar story, with the 24-year-old posting an average of 1.22 on-target efforts per 90.
On top of all that, Vinicius fired in no fewer than four shots on target during Real Madrid’s chaotic 4-4 draw with Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey last midweek.
Given the supporting cast that Vinicius has beside him in the final third, he should be afforded ample opportunity to work Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya at least once.
What's more, Mikel Arteta’s men have hardly been watertight at the back in recent weeks, failing to keep a clean sheet in five of their last six matches across all competitions.
The fact that the Gunners will also be without key defender Gabriel only adds to the appeal of backing Vinicius Junior to register a shot on target.
With all that in mind, backing one of Real Madrid’s main goal threats to land a minimum of one on-target effort on Tuesday night looks a touch too big at 5/6.
