SlipsTips is back to share three angles of attack ahead of Saturday's fixtures, highlighting his three favourite selections from across Scotland and England.

Airdrie vs Peterhead (Saturday, 15:00)

Airdieodians will be aiming to make it three Scottish League One wins in succession when they play host to Peterhead on Saturday afternoon.

Rhys McCabe’s men halted a six-game run without a league win with a 4-0 mauling of Montrose before squeezing past Clyde with a 1-0 success last weekend.

As for Peterhead, they were downed 3-0 at Montrose last Saturday, on an afternoon where the hosts justified my faith in them to overcome a -1.25 hurdle on the Asian Handicap, so much so that I’m going back to the well again this weekend to side with the same selection at 5/6 (Bet 365).

This play will deliver profit if the Diamonds prevail by a two-goal winning-margin or more, with a half-stakes loss incurred if the home side succeed by a solitary strike.

Peterhead’s problems have been well-documented since way back in the summer and their dreadful run of form coupled with their bad habit of conceding goals doesn’t bode well ahead of a trip to the most potent attack in the division.

When you consider this bet would have paid out in each of the Blue Toon’s 10 League One defeats this season so far, backing an upbeat Airdrie team to overcome a -1.25 start on the Asian Handicap at 5/6 (Bet 365) holds plenty of appeal.

Recommended Bet

  • Airdrie -1.25 (Asian Handicap) – 5/6 (Bet 365)

West Ham United vs Leicester City (Saturday, 15:00)

West Ham will be looking to bounce back from back-to-back defeats in the Premier League when they lock horns with Leicester City at the London Stadium on Saturday.

To date, the Hammers have struggled to reach the heights that saw them being considered as potential top-six gatecrashers in recent seasons, while the Foxes are finally showing signs of getting their act together.

In fact, the visitors' recent resurgence suggests they're more than capable of keeping this capital clash competitive so I’m going to combine over zero Leicester goals and each team to receive a card at even-money (Bet 365).

Brendan Rodgers’ has an array of attacking talent at his disposal and that is demonstrated by the fact Leicester have scored in 22 of their last 24 Premier League away games, including each of their seven top-flight roads this term.

As such, I fancy the Foxes to fire in at least one strike here when faced with a confidence-stricken West Ham side that has leaked a minimum of one goal in 21 of their last 25 Premier League matches.

Given that both sides will be desperate to sign off for the World Cup break with a win, I’ll also back each team to receive a card in what should be a closely-fought contest.

Granted, both of these teams are amongst the more cleaner sides in the division when it comes to collecting cards, but a booking apiece doesn't look like too much to ask of two clubs looking over their shoulder, and it’s also worth noting that referee Jarred Gillet has awarded each team a card in four of his last six Premier League assignments.

What’s more, the above-mentioned Bet Builder would have banked profit in eight of West Ham’s last 10 Premier League games, so siding with the same play in East London on Saturday at evens (Bet 365) looks particularly enticing.

Recommended Bet

  • Over 0 Leicester Goals
  • Both Teams to Receive a Card
  • Bet Builder (1/1, Bet 365)

Aberdeen vs Dundee United (Saturday, 18:00)

Two teams who endured contrasting Scottish Premiership fortunes in midweek square off on Saturday evening, as Aberdeen entertain Dundee United.

Linginston were the latest team to take advantage of the Dons' travel sickness with a 2-1 win on Tuesday, while the Terrors received a major shot in the arm as they were able to overcome relegation rivals Kilmarnock with a 4-0 victory.

However, Aberdeen are a different beast on home soil and it’s the 10/11 (PaddyPower) on the Dandies to deliver Over 1.5 Team Goals that caught my eye.

Jim Goodwin’s third-placed side have claimed maximum points from five of their six Scottish Premiership outings at Pittodrie this season, banging in an eye-catching 21 goals in the process.

While Liam Fox’s visitors will certainly be buoyed by their 4-0 crushing of Killie last time out, United are without a road win in seven attempts and have registered just one clean sheet on their travels this term, not to mention they hold the division's worst defensive record.

Given that Aberdeen have scored a minimum of two goals in each of their nine home matches across all competitions this season so far, 10/11 (PaddyPower) is a value price on a repeat on Saturday evening.
