Scottish football fanatic SlipsTips is back to share three angles of attack ahead of Saturday's fixtures, highlighting his three favourite fancies from the SPFL.

Raith Rovers vs Hamilton Academical (Saturday, 15:00)

Raith Rovers will be aiming to record back-to-back wins in the Scottish Championship when they play host to Hamilton Academical on Saturday afternoon.

Rovers’ slow start to the season appears to be behind them, with Ian Murray’s men pocketing seven points from the last nine on offer, the most recent of which were collected courtesy of a 3-0 cruise to victory against Partick Thistle.

As for Hamilton, they showed an abundance of fighting spirit to battle back from two goals down to snatch a 4-4 draw at home to Cove Rangers last weekend.

That being said, John Rankin’s relegation-threatened side have conceded a minimum of two goals in eight of their last 11  league games, not to mention they hold the joint-worst defensive record in the division.

Those stats don’t augur well ahead of a trip to Stark's Park to take on a Raith Rovers side who have clicked into top gear in recent weeks.

The Kirkcaldy club have scored two or more goals in four of their six Scottish Championship home games this season and they look an enticing price at even-money (PaddyPower) to hit another double against Accies.

Recommended Bet

  • Over 1.5 Raith Rovers Goals– 1/1 (PaddyPower)

Montrose vs Peterhead (Saturday, 15:00)

Montrose will be looking to return to winning ways when they lock horns with Peterhead at Links Park on Saturday.

The Gable Endies four-game unbeaten run in Scottish League One came grinding to a halt after being  annihilated 4-0 at Airdrie last weekend, while Peterhead put the brakes on their four-game losing run by earning a 1-1 draw with FC Edinburgh.

Despite the pair’s contrasting fortunes last weekend,  I suspect this could be a perfect opportunity for Montrose to get back in the winning groove, and therefore backing the hosts to overcome a -1.25 hurdle on the Asian Handicap holds appeal at 39/40 (Bet 365).

This selection means if Stewart Petrie’s side prevail by two or more goals we will be paid out, and if hosts win by a solitary strike then we lose only half of our stake, and that looks like a nice angle of attack when you consider the Blue Toon’s troubled start to the season.

While Jim McInally’s men picked up a point last time out, they have lost nine of their 13 league games this season and are without a clean sheet across all competitions this season so far.

Given the hosts superior quality, as well as the fact each of Peterhead’s nine league losses this season have seen their opponents overcome a -1.25 handicap, backing Montrose to follow suit at 39/40 (Bet 365) is a price that definitely represents value.

Recommended Bet

  • Montrose  -1.25 (Asian Handicap)– 39/40 (Bet 365)

Albion Rovers vs Stirling Albion (Saturday, 15:00)

Stirling Albion will go in search of a seventh successive win in Scottish League Two when they make the short trip to Albion Rovers on Saturday afternoon.

A sequence of seven straight wins has sent Darren Young’s side to the summit of the fourth tier and they look more than well-equipped to trade blows with Brian Reid’s hosts this weekend.

The Cliftonhill club are currently joint-bottom of the table, but they have earned noteworthy draws in their last two matches with top-four opposition in the shape of both Dumbarton and Stenshousemuir.

However, a visit from the league leaders should represent a tougher test and it’s the 10/11 on Stirling Albion to score Over 1.5 Team Goals that stands out at 10/11 with Betway.

As already alluded to, the Binos' blistering form has taken them to the top of the table and that can be attributed to the fact that they are the division’s top scorers, having banged in 29 goals across their opening 12 games of the season.

What’s more, Stirling have struck at least twice in each of their last six league games, so the Forthbank outfit make plenty of appeal to repeat the trick at 10/11 (Betway) against an Albion Rovers side with just one clean sheet to their name all season.

Recommended Bet

  • Over 1.5 Stirling Albion Goals – 10/11 (Betway)
