SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League play-off second leg showdown with Man City on Wednesday night.
Real Madrid vs Man City (Wednesday, 20:00)
Real Madrid and Manchester City will renew hostilities at the Santiago Bernabeu for the second leg of their Champions League play-off tie on Wednesday night.
The reigning European champions drew first blood last week when staging a late comeback to earn a 3-2 win at the Etihad.
Carlo Ancelotti’s star-studded side are odds-on favourites to come out on top again in this week’s second legs, however I’m going to bypass that option given the dynamic of this play-off tie.
Instead, I’m more than happy to highlight an alternative offering which can be found in the player shots on target market.
Real Madrid’s Rodrygo has been priced up at 17/20 to register a minimum of one shot on target and that price holds plenty of appeal.
The Brazilian forward has averaged one on-target effort per-game across his seven appearances in this season’s Champions League so far.
It’s also worth noting that the 24-year-old has scored four goals across his last three Champions League appearances for Los Blancos.
On top of that, Rodrygo has made the net bulge in three of his last seven outings in La Liga.
Drill a little deeper and it can be seen that the Real Madrid hotshot has hit the target once or more in six of the last eight domestic matches that he has started.
Given City’s need to throw caution to the wind on Wednesday night, Real Madrid and Rodrygo should be presented with plenty of opportunities on the counter-attack.
In fact, the Spanish heavyweights registered no fewer than eight on-target efforts on their way to victory in Manchester last midweek.
So with all things considered, Rodrygo represents a terrific value option for at least one shot on target on Wednesday night at 17/20 on Betway.
