Kilmarnock and Dundee will do battle in an intriguing-looking Scottish Premiership clash at Rugby Park on Saturday afternoon.
The hosts will know that a win this weekend will guarantee safety with two games to spare.
As for Dundee, they currently find themselves in a precarious position as they are perched just above the relegation play-off spot.
The form book certainly favours Kilmarnock coming into this clash and that is reflected in the pre-match odds, with a home win priced up at 4/5 with Boylesports.
While those odds hold some appeal, I would be more inclined to back Kilmarnock to score two or more goals on Saturday afternoon at 17/20 with William Hill.
Derek McInnes’ men are ending the season in impressive fashion, winning three of their last four matches to move up to 9th spot in the table.
The Ayrshire outfit have scored exactly two goals in each of those victories and they look well placed to continue in that vein when Dundee come to town.
The Dark Blues have been leaking goals at an alarming rate all season, conceding a league-high 73 strikes across the opening 35 rounds of top flight action this term.
That defensive fragility can be attributed to the fact that Dundee have shipped multiple goals in 23 of their 35 league games this season, the most recent of which was at home to Motherwell last time out.
Moreover, Tony Docherty’s team have conceded twice in two of their previous three top flight tussles with Kilmarnock this term.
Given that Dundee have scored in 27 of their 35 Scottish Premiership matches this season – including each of their previous three with Kilmarnock – the hosts may require multiple strikes if they are to take top honours on Saturday.
With all that in mind, backing a Kilmarnock side that has done the majority of their best work at Rugby Park this season to score at least twice looks well worthy of support at 17/20 with William Hill.
