I’ll get the Bet Builder underway by backing Julian Alvarez to register at least one shot on target on Wednesday night. The Atletico Madrid attacker is averaging a shade under one on-target effort per game in this season’s Champions League.
Alvarez is Atelti’s biggest scoring threat and he has caused problems for Real Madrid already this term, notching twice against them in the space of a month, including last week's first leg. The Argentine ace has also been on penalty kick duty of late, and that only adds to the appeal of supporting this selection.

On a similar line of reasoning to the above, I’ll also go with the aforementioned Alvarez to attempt two or more shots during this dust-up. The 25-year-old forward has averaged 1.89 shots per 90 in this season’s Champions League, attempting multiple efforts on goal in each of Atletico's Madrid’s four home games during the league phase. What’s more, Alvarez has also registered two shots or more in each of his two La Liga appearances against Real Madrid this season.
Over 1 Atletico Madrid Card
With the onus on Atletico Madrid to attack at some point during this second leg showdown, the hosts may have to lean on their expertise of the game’s dark arts to take the sting out of Real Madrid’s counter-attacking threat. As such, I’ll back Diego Simeone’s warriors to collect a minimum of two cards on Wednesday night.
Atleti have racked up multiple bookings in three of their four Champions League home games this season, and that trend should continue when their city rivals come calling this midweek. When hosting Real Madrid earlier this season, Atletico Madrid were shown three yellow cards and one red card.
