Germany turned on the style in their Group E opener and can secure a place in the knockout stages if they beat Ivory Coast tonight.

After thrashing Curacao 7-1, Julian Nagelsmann's side will have their tails up but the African side represent a big step up in class.

Ivory Coast also began with a win over Ecuador and should be a tougher team to break down after shutting out the fancied South Americans.

Germany vs Ivory Coast top betting tips

After such an impressive display in that opening game, it's not a massive surprise to see the Germans as 8/15 favourites with Bet365.

I'd be surprised if they ran riot again though so a German win with under 3.5 goals might be the shout at 6/4 with Bet365.

It was midfielder Felix Nmecha who sparked the rout of Curacao with a classy finish and he ended up having three efforts on target.

That makes the 5/4 on offer at Bet365 for the Dortmund man to have a single effort tonight worth a punt.

Ecuador vs Curacao top betting tips

Plenty of people talked up Ecuador as potential World Cup dark horses but they failed to land a telling blow on Ivory Coast and were hit by a late sucker punch.

They now have little margin for error in Group E and will need to go for goals against Curacao tonight in case they end up finishing third in the section.

After that thrashing from the Germans, the bookies don't give Curacao a prayer tonight as they're 18/1 outsiders with Bet365.

Ecuador are 1/10 hot favourites so it's tricky finding a bit of value in this one. I'm going for a bet builder that combines a first-half Ecuador win with over 2.5 goals for the South Americans at 10/11.

Netherlands vs Sweden

Sweden flew out of the traps in Group F as they routed Tunisia but now face the acid test as they go up against European heavyweights Netherlands.

Graham Potter's side finished bottom of their qualifying section and only got into the play-offs thanks to their Nations League results.

But they saw off Ukraine and Poland to stamp their ticket to the finals then turned on the style with a rampant 5-1 victory over the Tunisians.

High-profile strike duo Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres both netted in that rout and backing them each to have an effort on target tonight pays 11/8 at Bet365.

The Dutch were a bit flaky in their 2-2 draw with Japan and this has the makings of another close game. So the half-time draw also appeals at 11/8 and it may draw some attention across the best World Cup betting apps.
