Matchday 5 of Serie A could prove crucial in the title race, as the two current favourites will face each other for the first time this season.
Beyond the big match between AS Roma and Inter Milan, three more exciting fixtures are on the card, promising plenty of action and twists and turns.

Bologna vs. Torino (2pm)
Bologna and Torino are two of the struggling teams at the start of the season, with just one win between them. Whilst their defence isn’t all that bad, their main problems lie in attack.
Bologna have failed to score in three of their four matches so far, but we can certainly give them some credit, as they’ve had one of the toughest early fixtures, facing Napoli, Atalanta and Lazio, and lost all three matches by just 1-0.
Torino have scored a few more goals so far, but they are certainly weaker at the back. If Bologna pull themselves together, it’s entirely possible they could win by the narrowest of margins whilst keeping a clean sheet.

Udinese vs. Cagliari (2pm)
Cagliari in fifth place is certainly a strange sight, but they’ve earned it with three wins from four matches so far. More importantly, their defence has been phenomenal, conceding just two goals.
Udinese didn’t get off to a bad start, but it soon became clear that their defence would be a serious problem, and they’ve already conceded 10 goals in four matches. The fact is, however, that they’re also scoring plenty, which leads me to believe we can expect a bit more action here.
Taking all factors into account, and given Udinese’s home advantage, I believe this match has the potential to end 1–1.

AS Roma vs. Inter Milan (5pm)
Roma are currently Inter Milan’s surprise main rivals, with both teams having started the season with four wins. The Wolves have always struggled against the Nerazzurri, with Inter having won eight of the last 10 head-to-head encounters.
I’m extremely curious to see what will happen, and I even think Roma have a chance, but so far we haven’t seen them take on a genuine top-tier side, apart from Atalanta.
Inter Milan have already proved themselves against Napoli, and the chance of them losing is certainly much smaller. I’m going for Both Teams to Score, which has been the main theme in most of Inter’s matches, and given the form of both teams, it’s quite possible we’ll see their first H2H draw since 2021.

Venezia vs. Lazio (7:45pm)
Despite the club’s deep-seated problems, Lazio continue to prove themselves on the pitch, and that is what matters most at the moment. After four matchdays, they remain unbeaten, with three wins and a draw.
Venezia, meanwhile, are the only team in Serie A without a single point after the first four rounds. They also boast the league’s worst defence, having conceded 11 goals.
Lazio are looking really good and simply cannot afford not to win against the struggling hosts.
