Saturday’s Serie A schedule features critical battles across both halves of the table, headlined by third-placed Roma hosting Sassuolo at the Stadio Olimpico and surprise package Frosinone travelling to Cagliari.
Elsewhere, regional rivals Parma and Bologna clash at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, while Torino look to arrest a two-match slide when they entertain relegation-threatened Lecce.
Below you’ll find our expert tips and predictions for all Serie A matches on Saturday.
Today’s Serie A betting tips & predictions
Cagliari vs. Frosinone (2pm)
Cagliari enter this home tie down in 12th place on 13 points, having collected just a solitary point from their last five league matches (D1, L4) following a 2-1 defeat at Lazio last time.
Their primary weakness lies in attack, scoring only nine goals in 10 matches, which is the third-worst tally in the division. High-flying Frosinone, in contrast, have a much more open style, with goals flying in both directions in the majority of their matches.
So far, only Inter and Roma have scored more goals than them, although their defence is quite leaky too. As a result, I believe an Over here is the way to go, although backing Frosinone for a draw no bet also makes a lot of sense.
Cagliari vs. Frosinone top betting tip: Over 2.5 goals, Frosinone DNB
Torino vs. Lecce (2pm)
Torino sit 10th on 13 points, seeking an immediate response after consecutive defeats to Como (3-1) and Frosinone (2-0) derailed their mid-table momentum.
Lecce occupy 14th spot on nine points and remain the league's only team without a draw (W3, L7), having lost four of their last five matches. The Salentini have conceded 21 goals this campaign, which equals an average of 2.1 per match.
Considering how vulnerable they are at the back, Torino should be able to get the job done at home and remind us of their form from the earlier rounds.
Torino vs. Lecce top betting tip: Torino to win
Parma vs. Bologna (5pm)
Parma escaped the drop zone for at least a round, following their shocking 3-0 triumph away at Atalanta. But the fact that they scored nearly half of their goal tally in that match shows exactly where the problems have been for the Gialloblu.
Bologna have not looked this good in years, with four wins in the last five rounds. The Rossoblu have been exceptionally sharp on their travels, winning three of their five away games while scoring eight times.
Their most recent trip saw them beat AC Milan 4-2 at San Siro, so I am definitely going to be backing them to beat Parma as well.
Parma vs. Bologna top betting tip: Bologna to win
AS Roma vs. Sassuolo (7:45pm)
Unbeaten AS Roma sit third in Serie A on 24 points, boasting the division’s best attack with 28 goals scored in 10 matches. Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have turned Stadio Olimpico into a fortress this season, even stopping the champions a few weeks back.
Sassuolo are in deep trouble in 17th place with eight points, having suffered four defeats in their five away trips whilst conceding a league-worst 26 goals.
Following Roma’s comeback loss to Manchester United midweek, I expect them to take it all out on Sassuolo, who conceded 17 goals across their last five Serie A matches.
