This week has been all about Spanish football, with Monday being the only day without any La Liga fixtures. Next up, we have four new exciting clashes on Saturday.
Alaves host Mallorca in a head-on clash for survival, as both sides remain in danger of the drop. Following them, Barcelona travel to Getafe, and Valencia host Girona to decide which side will make a crucial step towards safety. Last but not least, Atletico Madrid will try to claim their first La Liga win since mid-March when they host Athletic Bilbao in the late fixture.
There is a lot to look forward to on Saturday, so take a look at our expert tips and predictions for all La Liga fixtures.
Today’s La Liga betting tips & predictions
Alaves vs. Mallorca (1pm)
Both Alaves and Mallorca have improved their form in recent weeks, but neither team is safe from relegation yet, so this match is a direct battle for survival.
What stands out most is the high number of goals both teams have been scoring. Compared to their performance for most of the season, this is a significant improvement.
That’s exactly why we expect to see a higher-scoring match than usual. The last five matches between these two teams have had fewer than three goals. We won’t risk betting on over 2.5, but we expect at least one goal from each team, and a draw seems quite possible.

Getafe vs. Barcelona (3:15pm)
Getafe are making a late push for a European spot, with three wins in their last five matches propelling them up to sixth place. However, the battle will continue until the final round, and they now face the toughest test La Liga has to offer.
In the last two months, Getafe have defeated several teams from the top half of the table at home, including Betis, Bilbao, and Villarreal. But Barcelona are coming off eight consecutive La Liga wins.
Getafe are the team with the lowest-scoring matches in the league, with only nine of 32 matches featuring over 2.5 goals. Given the importance of this match, we don’t expect much attacking football from the hosts. That’s why we’ll take a slight risk on under 2.5 goals, while expecting a 1-0 Barcelona win.
Getafe vs. Barcelona top betting tip: Under 2.5 goals
Valencia vs. Girona (5:30pm)
Valencia and Girona are near the middle of the table, but just as close to the relegation zone. So nothing is decided yet, and the three points are absolutely essential.
Both teams struggle with consistency and are quite hard to figure out. What we can expect in such an important match is goals, as is usually the case between them.
Seven of Valencia’s last 10 home games have featured goals from both teams. Four of Girona’s last five away games have as well. And specifically for their head-to-head matches, the same can be said for four out of five.

Atletico Madrid vs. Athletic Bilbao (8pm)
We can’t remember ever seeing Atletico Madrid in such poor form, and that needs to change immediately because they have a Champions League semifinal coming up.
Perhaps they let up because their spot in the top four was practically guaranteed months ago. But seven losses in eight matches is too many, and they also lost the Copa del Rey final.
Fortunately for them, Athletic Bilbao are also in similarly poor form, with the difference being that they aren’t scoring any goals at all. That’s exactly why we’re picking the home team in this match, because at least they have plenty of firepower.
