Young Boys vs Atalanta

, KO: 20:00 Nov 23, 2021, Wankdorf Stadion
Atalanta

IT'S a must-win game for both sides as Atalanta visit Switzerland to face Young Boys in the penultimate game in the Champions League group stages.

Atalanta currently sit in third place in the section with five points and are two points behind both Manchester United and Villarreal. It would be regarded as something of a shock if the highly though-of Italian side didn't make it out of the group.

The Bern side are in even more trouble though with only three points and they sit in the bottom of the group.

Atalanta must beat Young Boys to stay in contention to reach the Round of 16 without having to depend on other results, while the hosts must beat Atalanta to have a chance of reaching the next round. They will be confirmed in fourth place if they lose.

YB have enjoyed something of a break. They haven't played a game anywhere since November 6 and it remains to be seen if their enforced absence has any impact on them.

Atalanta romped to a 5-2 win over Spezia in Serie A at the weekend which maintains their reputation as one of the most entertaining sides to watch in the competition.

How the bookies view it

The Italians are odds-on across the board with Unibet's 19/20 the closest you can get to evens. Young Boys can be backed at 45/17 with SBK while the draw is 13/5 with bet365.

Recent head to heads

The teams have only previously met once and the Italians for the better of the Swiss in a 1-0 win in Bergamo in September in the reverse fixture which can be seen below.

Players to watch

Jordan Siebatcheu netted against Manchester United and also in YB's last game against Grasshoppers and has ten goals for the season. The American striker is a danger at 9/4 to score anytime with bet365.

Colombian hitman Duvan Zapata has five goals in his last eight games for Atalanta and takes the penalties too. He's 24/19 with Unibet to score in Switzerland.

Anything else catch the eye?

Atalanta daren't lose and are up against a rusty Young Boys side who were in poor form before their break anyway with three defeats and a draw in all competitions. YB have also lost their last three Champions League games, including a 4-1 home hammering from Villarreal.

You are almost guaranteed goals with Atalanta and there should be plenty here. Since the reverse fixture in September, all nine of Atalanta's game have seen both teams score and only one of them finished under 2.5 goals.

Therefore the BTTS and an away win at 21/10 with McBookie.com has to have a chance, along with over 3.5 goals at 29/20 with SBK.
