Thomas Frank is on the brink of the sack after an exit from the FA Cup at the hands of Aston Villa was followed by another home Premier League loss to struggling West Ham.

But while Frank's side are toiling at home, they are ticking along nicely in Europe, banking 11 points from six Champions League games.

That will probably be enough to see them into the knockout stages, no matter what happens in the final two matches, but a win over Dortmund would give them a fighting chance of a top-eight finish.

Dortmund boast an identical record to Tottenham in the league phase and only sit above their hosts by virtue of scoring more goals.

Unlike Spurs, they're also enjoying a good domestic campaign, having lost just one of their 18 Bundesliga games after a thrilling 3-2 weekend win over St Pauli.

The incredible form of Bayern Munich is making a title win unlikely in Germany but Niko Kovac will be setting his sights on an extended run in Europe.

Dortmund reached the final of this tournament two seasons ago and if they can win in London it could send them into the top eight with just one game to play.

How the bookies view it: Dortmund look too big at 13/8

Tottenham have won all three of their home Champions League games this season and they're 17/10 to keep up that perfect record with BetMGM. Dortmund are a cut above Villarreal, Copenhagen and Slavia Prague though and look overpriced at 13/8 with Bet365. The draw pays 5/2 with most firms.

Head to head: Tottenham to the four

These sides have faced off six times before, with all those games coming in the last decade. Spurs have the edge with four wins to two, including a 3-0 romp on Borussia's last visit in 2019.

Players to watch: SOS for Solanke?

Dominic Solanke has come off the bench in the last two games and Frank might think about starting the striker here to spark their season back into life. The fit-again forward is 21/10 at Paddy Power for anytime scorer.

Serhou Guirassy was only used as a sub at the weekend by Dortmund but I'd imagine their star striker will be in from the start in London. He's 28/17 at Unibet for anytime scorer and that looks a decent price with Spurs in such a state.

Probable line-ups

Tottenham are still missing several key players, with Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski, Mohamed Kudus, James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur and Ben Davies out. Pape Sarr and Joao Palhinha are doubts while Micky Van de Ven is suspended.

Dortmund have a pretty healthy squad to pick from, with only stopper Aaron Anselimo crocked.

Tottenham Hotspur: Vicario, Spence, Romero, Danso, Spence, Gray, Bergvall, Simons, Kolo Muani, Odobert, Solanke.

Borussia Dortmund: Kobel, Anton, Schlotterbeck, Can, Bellingham, Nmecha, Svensson, Ryerso, Brandt, Adeyemi, Guirassy.

Anything else catch the eye?

The atmosphere was pretty poisonous after West Ham's late winner on Saturday and an early Dortmund goal could turn the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium toxic in this game.

Dortmund look good value for the win and you can back them at 5/6 with William Hill to win either half if you want to play it a bit safer.

Van de Ven will be a big miss in defence for Frank and Dortmund could get a bit of joy. Backing the German side to score over 1.5 goals pays a decent 5/4 at William Hill.

Tottenham may have to field youthful duo Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall in midfield due to their injury crisis. Backing each of them to commit over 1.5 fouls pays 32/10 at Bet365.
