Spain vs Brazil

, KO: 20:30 Mar 26, 2024, Estadio Santiago Bernabeu
Brazil

After falling to Colombia last weekend, Spain battle another South American side as Brazil come visiting on Tuesday. Both teams appear evenly matched in terms of quality and could be set to serve up a closely fought encounter here.

Spain were beaten by another South American side as they fell 1-0 to Colombia in their previous friendly. They were under fire in that encounter, particularly after the break and were eventually breached midway through the second half.

That was the first defeat in nine matches for Spain, who have been in good form lately. Luis de la Fuentes’ men qualified for this summer’s European Championship with ease and had picked up seven straight wins prior to the clash with Colombia.

Although they were shut out against Colombia, the Spaniards still have plenty of attacking quality with the likes of Alvaro Morata and Mikel Oyarzabal. However, they appear a bit vulnerable at the back, failing to keep a clean sheet in their last three matches.

Brazil travel to Spain off the back of a 1-0 victory over England in their previous friendly. With the clash seemingly heading for a draw, youngster Endrick came off the bench to grab a late winner in his first appearance for the senior national team.

The Brazilians are coming into a new era and manager Dorival Junior will be pleased to have gotten a win in his first match in charge. La Selecao had found things difficult in recent matches, failing to win their previous four fixtures.

Brazil are generally blessed with plenty of attacking quality and Real Madrid stars Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior will consider the Santiago Bernabeu a second home. However, they will need to tighten up more at the back having conceded in each of the four matches prior to the clash in England.

How the bookies view it

Spain have the upper hand among the bookies and are priced at 21/20 by Paddy Power to claim the win. A victory for Brazil is valued at 11/4 by Betfred while a draw is set at odds of 12/5 by 10bet.

Head to head

Brazil have a 4-2 advantage with two draws from eight previous matches against Spain. The last meeting was a 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup clash which ended 3-0 in favour of the South Americans.

Players to watch

Alvaro Morata came of the bench against Colombia and could be given a start on Tuesday. The striker will be keen to bring his Atletico Madrid form into the national team and is priced at 37/20 by Unibet to score anytime.

The duo of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo will be keen to get on the score sheet at the Santiago Bernabeu and could be quite keeping an eye on. A goal for Vinicius is valued at 14/5 by Unibet, who is also offering 3/1 on Rodrygo in the same market.

Anything else catch the eye?

Given the attacking quality on display, both teams could be backed to score at 20/23 with BoyleSports. Spain have seen over 3.5 goals in two of their last three matches and a repeat is priced at 14/5 with BetVictor while over 2.5 goals could also be considered at 11/10 with.

With a closely fought encounter expected here, a halftime draw could also be on the cards at 11/10 with Betfred.
