Crystal Palace are sinking like a stone in the Premier League and alarm bells will really start to ring if they lose to Nottingham Forest in this grudge match.

The Eagles were flying after their historic FA Cup triumph and went 11 games unbeaten in the new campaign but their season is now falling apart.

Palace have gone 11 matches without a win and key figures are queueing up to leave the sinking ship.

Skipper Marc Guehi has already left for Manchester City, star striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is trying to push through a move and boss Oliver Glasner has revealed he's leaving at the end of the season.

Morale is understandably low and there's a danger of Palace being dragged into a relegation battle if their slump continues.

They're now just eight points clear of the drop zone and fourth-bottom Forest would move level on points with them if they can win this game.

There was already plenty of spice to this fixture after a complaint from Forest saw them take Palace's place in the Europa League, with the Eagles dropping down to the Conference.

But this match is now even more explosive as both teams desperately need a win as they bid to move away from danger.

How the bookies view it: Forest odds-on favourites

This is a tricky one to call with Palace in terrible form but Forest coming off the back of a Europa League game on Thursday night.

But most bookies have Sean Dyche's men as 19/20 favourites and you can back Crystal Palace at 3/1 with BetMGM. The draw looks like a decent option at 5/2 with the same firm.

Recent head to head: Daggers drawn

This fixture has been keenly fought of late, with four of the last five meetings ending in draws. But Forest did claim a 1-0 win when Palace last came calling in 2024.

Players to watch: Jesus the saviour?

Igor Jesus should lead the line for Nottingham Forest and the Brazilian is in great form, with four goals in his last four outings. He's 6/5 at Bet365 to score or assist.

Ismaila Sarr's return from Africa Cup of Nations duty is a welcome boost for Crystal Palace. With doubts over Mateta, he looks their best bet to do some damage and is 15/8 at Bet365 to score or assist.

Probable line-ups

Forest's injury problems are easing with only Chris Wood and John Victor on the sidelines. I'd imagine Dyche will make plenty of changes after that European match on Thursday.

Palace's thin squad is stretched and the loss of Adam Wharton due to suspension is a big blow. Caleb Kporha, Cheick Doucoure, Daichi Kamada, Rio Cardines, Nathaniel Clyne and Eddie Nketiah are set to miss out due to injury.

Nottingham Forest: Sels, Williams, Murillo, Milenkovic, Aina, Sangare, Hudson-Odoi, Anderson, Gibbs-White, Dominguez, Jesus.

Crystal Palace: Henderson, Lacroix, Canvot, Richards, Munoz, Mitchell, Lerma, Hughes, Sarr, Pino, Johnson.

Anything else catch the eye?

With so much at stake I'm expecting this one to be tight and tense so the half-time draw looks good at 6/5 with Bet365, particularly with so many of the recent meetings ending in stalemates.

None of the last seven clashes between these sides has seen over 2.5 goals but going for under 2.5 strikes only pays 4/5 at Bet365. Betting against BTTS is better at evens with Betfred.

There's bad blood between these clubs and it could pay to back a busy day for the officials. Over 42.5 booking points pays just 5/6 with Betfred though so it's better going for player cards.

Will Hughes should replaced the banned Wharton in Palace's midfield and is 7/4 at Bet365 to pick up a seventh card this term.
