Newcastle United have been maddeningly inconsistent this season but they will secure a place in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages if they can see off PSV Eindhoven at St James' Park.
Magpies fans were hoping their club would push on this season after Eddie Howe led them to EFL Cup success last term, ending a 70-year wait for major silverware.
But Newcastle sit eighth in the Premier League and their grasp on the EFL Cup looks set to slip after losing 2-0 at home to Manchester City in the first leg of the semi-final.
That was followed by a dreary 0-0 draw with Wolves on Sunday so Howe needs his side to step up as they return to Champions League action.
Newcastle sit on 10 points after six games and look good to reach the knockouts but this clash with PSV is followed by a trip to European champions Paris St-Germain so Howe will be desperate to make sure with a home win.
This match is also massive for the Dutch side, who sit on eight points, as they have a tough final fixture at home to rampant Bayern Munich.
Both teams should be going for the win so the stage is set for another St James' Park thriller.
How the bookies view it: Magpies home free
Newcastle's home form has been good this season and they're hot favourites for this one at a best 10/21 with Coral. PSV Eindhoven are as big as 11/2 with Betfred while the draw pays 4/1 with most firms.
Head to head: PSV by a nose
These sides have faced off four times before in Europe and PSV have the edge, with two wins, one draw and one defeat. But Newcastle won 2-1 at St James' Park in the last meeting as they sealed a 3-2 aggregate win in the 2004 UEFA Cup.
Players to watch: Bruno leading by example
Captain Bruno Guimaraes is probably the only Newcastle star who has been on top form this season. The Brazilian midfielder has chipped in with eight goals and is 21/20 at Bet365 to score or assist.
Guus Til is enjoying a superb season for PSV, netting 13 times, and has scored in his last two Champions League outings. He's a decent 7/4 with Bet365 for a goal or assist.
Probable line-ups
Defenders Tino Livramento, Dan Burn and Fabian Schar looks set to miss out again for Newcastle while winger Jacob Murphy is a doubt.
PSV have Ismail Saibari back from Africa Cup of Nations duty but he misses out with suspension. Ricardo Pepi, Nick Olij, Myron Boadu, Ruben van Bommel and Alassane Plea have injuries.
Newcastle United: Pope, Miley, Thiaw, Botman, Hall, Guimaraes, Joelinton, Tonali, Gordon, Barnes, Woltemade.
PSV Eindhoven: Kovar, Sidillia, Flamingo, Obispo, Dest, Wanner, Veerman, Man, Til, Perisic, Bajraktarevic.
Anything else catch the eye?
Newcastle played out a dreary 0-0 draw on Sunday but they've also had 4-3 and 3-3 thrillers at St James' Park this month.
With PSV needing a win, this should be an open game but combining BTTS and over 2.5 goals only takes you to 3/4 at Coral. Over 1.5 first-half goals offers more value at 21/20 with 888Sport.
Think both sides will find the net? Our BTTS Masterclass explains how to spot the fixtures where goals are a given.
We could see a lot of corners with both sides going for it and over 10.5 flag kicks pays just above evens at 42/41 with Unibet.
