MORTON host Dunfermline in a Friday night live televised clash in the Scottish Championship.
The hosts were in midweek action and slumped to a 2-1 home defeat to high-flying Raith Rovers. It means they are bottom of the Championhip, although they can go level on points with Dunfermline with a win here and leapfrog Inverness.
Dunfermline started the season well after being tipped by some as dark horses for the title and they even managed a draw at Tannadice against Dundee United.
But injuries have hampered them and they have come off the rails somewhat recently. They have lost their last three games to Partick Thistle, Ayr United and Raith Rovers without managing to score a goal.
However, the Pars can feel aggrieved though as they were the better side for most of their Fife derby at Stark's Park before losing to a sucker punch late goal.
And even against the Jags, they played well and the scoreline flattered the hosts.
But four defeats in a row would set off serious alarm bells at East End Park for manager James McPake and they could do with the win in Inverclyde.
How the bookies view it
There's nothing between the teams really in the betting with both hovering around the 6/4 mark.
Morton can be backed at 8/5 with 888Sport and Dunfermline at the same price with Paddy Power. The draw is 23/10 with William Hill.
Recent head to heads
The clubs have already met this season at East End Park and Dunfermline were too strong for Morton with a 3-1 win.
However, last season Morton crushed the Pars 5-0 on their last visit to Cappielow. Dunfermline have failed to win on their last ten visits to Greenock.
Players to watch
George Oakley has plenty of experience in Scotland and netted the winner at Ayr at the weekend. He is 11/8 to score anytime with bet365.
Dunfermline are on that goal drought, but ex-Dundee hitman Craig Wigton scored against Morton in their meeting this season and is 7/4 for a goal on Friday with bet365.
Anything else catch the eye?
Dunfermline can pile on the misery for Morton and get the win in Greenock.
The Pars are in a bit of a false position – to dominate a side like Raith Rovers at their own ground shows they are better than their recent points tally suggests.
You get the feeling with them a goal would boost their confidence and they are playing against a Morton side who give you opportunities. And they have already defeated them this season.
In three of Morton's last four games only one team has scored and that's the case for Dunfermline's last three games. So go for both teams to score: No at 6/5 with McBookie.com.
