GALATASARAY and Manchester United will go toe-to-toe in a potentially pivotal Champions League showdown at Rams Park on Wednesday evening.
Bayern Munich have already wrapped up top spot in Group A, however the other three sides are separated by just one point in what is becoming a fiercely competitive scrap for second place.
Hosts Galatasaray dropped to third place in the pool when going down 2-0 at Bayern Munich on matchday four.
Okan Buruk’s side have since surrendered top spot in the Turkish Süper Lig to rivals Fenerbahçe, though they did return to winning ways on Saturday with 4-0 annihilation Alanyaspor.
As for Group A basement boys Manchester United, they are still in the mix to make it to the knockout round despite their late collapse when losing 4-3 to Copenhagen.
That being said, Erik ten Hag has since steadied the ship with a pair of morale-boosting Premier League wins against both Luton and Everton respectively.
Outright Betting
Galatasaray are marginal 13/8 outsiders at Bet 365 while a share of the Rams Park spoils can be backed at 11/4 the same firm
Despite losing three of their opening four Group A assignments, Manchester United are 29/20 (Bet 365) to triumph in Turkey.
Betting Angles
It's difficult to have too much faith in either team here from a 1×2 perspective so I’ll instead opt for a Bet Builder and back both Lucas Torreira and Diogo Dalot to each commit a minimum of one foul at 21/20 (Bet 365).
Former Arsenal man Torreira has never been one to shy away from a midfield battle and he should tackle his way into trouble at least once during this high-stakes affair.
The all-action Uruguayan collected a card during the reverse fixture at Old Trafford, not to mention he is averaging exactly one foul per-game in this season’s Champions League.
United right-back Dalot was also cautioned when the two teams met in Manchester last month and I suspect he will be reprimanded at least once here by Spanish referee José María Sánchez.
The Portuguese right-back looks set to have one of the toughest jobs on the pitch on Wednesday evening given that his direct opponent is likely to be foul-magnet Wilfried Zaha.
With all that in mind, and given the current state of the section, backing the aforementioned duo to each commit a foul stands out at 21/20 (Bet 365).
I'm also prepared to take it one step further and back both Lucas Torreira and Diogo Dalo to be carded at 12/1 with PaddyPower.
As already mentioned, both players were booked when the sides met on matchday two and the same combination could be worth some loose change here given the importance of the Istanbul return match.
