EVERTON have roared back up the Premier League table and will be confident of keeping their revival on track when crisis club Arsenal come calling.
Carlo Ancelotti's men set the pace in the first four weeks of the season before dropping away after winning just two of their next seven games. But they have now steadied the ship thanks to impressive wins over Chelsea and Leicester.
That left them just five points behind leaders Liverpool heading into the next round of games and the Toffees will be targeting three points against a Gunners side in freefall.
It's now six league games without a win for Mikel Arteta's men and they were lucky to escape with a point in midweek after going down to 10 men yet again in the clash with Southampton.
Arsenal stars have seen red in three of their last five league matches and Arteta will be tearing his hair out at the lack of discipline in the ranks.
They've had more red cards than goals since beating Manchester United at Old Trafford and only a massive improvement will see them take anything home from Goodison.
How the bookies view it
I thought Everton might be odds-on for this one so I'm snapping up the 13/10 on offer for a home win at McBookie. The Gunners are as big as 11/5 with SBK while the draw pays 5/2 at McBookie.
Recent head to head
Arsenal can take some heart from their form against Everton as they have lost just once in the last seven meetings, winning five. But that 1-0 defeat came at Goodison in April 2019 (below) and they also drew a blank in a 0-0 draw on Merseyside last season.
Players to watch
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has hogged the headlines for Everton this season and is 11/8 at Bet365 for another goal here. But I'm going to back Richarlison instead after his midweek goal at Leicester and the Brazilian is 23/10 with BetVictor for anytime scorer.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (below) ended his goal drought with a strike against Saints and that could spark him back to life. The Arsenal skipper is 37/20 at 888Sport for another goal.
Anything else catch the eye?
The Gunners have fired blanks on their last two trips to Goodison and looked starved of confidence so an Everton clean sheet appeals at 9/4 with Betfred.
Under 2.5 goals has come up in the last four Everton matches and this could be another tight one. A repeat pays evens at McBookie.
The last three meetings of these side have produced four or more cards and it could get feisty again. Over 3.5 cards pays a decent 5/4 at Bet365.
Backing a header to be scored paid off for me in Arsenal's loss to Burnley and that bet is 6/5 with William Hill here.
