Rangers will look to bounce back from their stalemate with Falkirk at the weekend as they travel to Tannadice to take on Dundee United on Wednesday night.
Rangers followed up their disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Braga in the Europa League with another lacklustre performance on Sunday, as they were held to a goalless draw against newly-promoted Falkirk at Ibrox.
Danny Rohl had initially won each of his opening four Premiership matches in charge of the Teddy Bears, but that draw means his new side remains nine points behind leaders Hearts, albeit with a game in hand.
Dundee United’s poor run of form continued at the weekend, as they drew 1-1 away at struggling Kilmarnock, leaving them in eighth position, five points outside of the top six.
Jim Goodwin’s men have now failed to win each of their last four and won just one of their past eight Premiership clashes, highlighting their poor run of form.
How the bookies view it: Gers favourites
Rangers are favourites to make it three consecutive away wins in the Scottish top flight, with bet365 pricing a Gers success at 7/10.
Bet365 have Dundee United priced at 7/2 to put a halt to their four-match winless streak, whilst the draw is 29/10.
Head to head: Rangers dominance
Rangers have dominated this fixture in recent seasons, as they have won seven of their previous nine meetings with The Tangerines (W7-D2-L0).
Dundee United’s last win against The Teddy Bears came in a 1-0 victory at Tannadice in August 2021, but they did draw 2-2 at Ibrox when the two last met in the middle of October.
Players to watch: Take Tav to be involved in a goal
James Tavernier continues to be Rangers’ main threat, as his out-swinging corner set up Rangers’ opener against Livingston a week and a half ago, as well as scoring from the spot last midweek in their draw with Braga in the Europa League.
The Rangers skipper now has seven goals and four assists to his name in all competitions this season – including a late equaliser in the last meeting between the sides – and the Englishman is 1/1 at bet365 to Score or Assist on Wednesday night, which appears good value.

Predicted line-ups:
Isaac Pappoe remains injured for Dundee United, whilst goalkeeper Yevgeniy Kucherenko will likely remain dropped following his horror show against Falkirk in their last home match.
Rangers will be missing a few players here, with John Souttar, Derek Cornelius, Mikey Moore and Bailey Rice all injured.
Dundee United: Richards, Iovu, Graham, Keresztes, Strain, Camara, Stephenson, Sibbald, Ferry, Watters, Sapsford
Rangers: Butland, Tavernier, Djiga, Fernandez, Meghoma, Barron, Raskin, Bajrami, Aasgaard, Gassama, Danilo
Anything else catch the eye?
These two clubs played out a 2-2 draw in their last meeting in the middle of October at Ibrox, but I don’t envisage a high-scoring encounter at Tannadice on Wednesday night.
Under 2.5 Goals has paid out in five of Rangers’ last seven matches in all competitions inside 90 minutes – and given the same has landed in six of United’s previous nine Premiership encounters – the 21/20 on offer at BOYLE Sports for a repeat appeals to md here.
Given their three most recent performances, I did look at backing Dundee United on the Asian Handicap (+0.75 pays 23/25 at bet365), but given Dundee United’s form also, I’ve decided to swerve it.
