Crystal Palace vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

, KO: 20:15 Oct 18, 2022, Selhurst Park
Wolverhampton Wanderers

CRYSTAL PALACE host Wolves on Tuesday night and it's unlikely to be a thriller, with both sides finding goalscoring a problem this season.

Managerless Wolves grabbed a huge weekend win against Nottingham Forest – just their second league win of the season – in what was a tense affair and it moved them outside the relegation zone come Saturday night.

But they are notoriously poor travellers, having lost five of their last six league games away from Molineux. At least they managed to score though, which put them up to four league goals for the season. They are still the Premier League's lowest scorers by some distance.

Palace are in a bit of a rut themselves, not helped by a chunky injury list which includes Jack Butland, James McArthur, Nathaniel Clyne, Nathan Ferguson and Chris Richards, with Will Hughes also a doubt.

They battled to a goalless draw against Leicester City at the weekend in a game short of thrills, but that made it just one win in their last six games – although they've only lost twice in that run at Manchester City and a last gasp defeat to Chelsea.

The Eagles could nonetheless do with a pick-me-up win and turn some of their four draws in nine games into wins.

How the bookies view it

Crystal Palace are pretty convincing favourites here and can be backed at 5/4.

Wolves are available to back at 12/5 with bet365 and the draw is 23/10 with 10Bet.

Recent head to heads

Palace did the double last season with a pair of 2-0 victories in the Black Country and in the capital. Wolves haven't won on their last three visits to Croydon.

Players to watch

Odsonne Edouard netted in consecutive games for Palace, although the ex-Celtic striker drew a blank against Leicester City. He is 12/5 to score anytime on Tuesday.

Ruben Neves was the Wolves hero on Saturday with a rare goal for Wanderers, although it did come via the penalty spot. He seems as good a shout as any to score for them right now at 13/2 with William Hill.

Anything else catch the eye?

It's hard to back any team with any conviction here with a lack of goals and a lack of form hampering both. A low scoring goal looks the call here.

It's difficult to see both teams netting too in a fixture which traditionally doesn't see many goals and BetVictor's 37/40 for both teams to score: No looks like a solid shout.

With under 2.5 goals a strong favourite at odds as short as 13/20 in places, go for under 1.5 goals in London at a much-more acceptable price of 2/1 with bet365.
