Chelsea will look to climb up into second in the Premier League table and move within three points of leaders Arsenal, at least temporarily, as they travel to Turf Moor to take on newly promoted Burnley at lunchtime on Saturday.
Enzo Maresca’s visitors have bounced back from their shock 1-2 defeat at home to Sunderland by getting their customary win over Spurs, before cruising to a 3-0 victory over bottom side Wolves at the Bridge last time out.
The Blues have now won four of their past five Premier League matches to move them up into third position in the Premier League table, just two points behind Manchester City and six behind leaders Arsenal.
After finishing off the month of October with back-to-back victories at home to Leeds and away at Wolves, Scott Parker’s men have lost each of their opening two in November.
The Clarets were beaten 0-2 at home to leaders Arsenal – on an afternoon where both of my selections landed – before losing 3-2 at the London Stadium against West Ham, leaving them outside the relegation zone above The Hammers only on goal difference.
How the bookies view it: Chelsea favourites
The bookies are expecting Chelsea to make it five wins from their last six in the Premier League at lunchtime on Saturday, with BOYLE Sports pricing an away success at just 4/9.
The same firm has Burnley as 5/1 underdogs, whilst the draw is 10/3.
Head to head: Blues dominance
These two clubs have met 18 times in the Premier League era, with Chelsea winning 12 and losing just one of those meetings (W12-D5-L1).
The Blues have won on each of their last six visits to Turf Moor, firing in an impressive 21 goals in the process.
Players to watch: Garnacho to be involved in the goals?
Alejandro Garnacho has started to prove in recent weeks why Chelsea decided to sign him from Manchester United in the summer.
The Argentina winger has scored goals against Sunderland and Qarabag in the last few weeks – as well as providing two assists in Chelsea’s victory over Wolves last time out – and the 6/5 on offer at Bet365 for another goal involvement at Turf Moor on Saturday certainly appeals to me.
Predicted line-ups:
Scott Parker will once again be unable to call on Zeki Amdouni, Jordan Beyer and Connor Roberts due to injury.
Chelsea still have a lengthy injury list, with the likes of Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Romeo Lavia, Cole Palmer and Dario Essugo all sidelined
Burnley: Dubravka, Walker, Tuanzebe, Esteve, Hartman, Cullen, Florentino, Ugochukwu, Bruun Larsen, Anthony, Flemming
Chelsea: Sanchez, Gusto, Fofana, Chalobah, Cucurella, Caicedo, James, Neto, Fernandez, Garnacho, Pedro
Anything else catch the eye?
Chelsea have proven to be flat track bullies in the Premier League this season, winning all four of their meetings with teams positioned in 15th and below, scoring 13 goals and conceding just once.
As alluded to, Chelsea have a terrific record away at Burnley, winning on each of their last six visits, scoring at least twice on each occasion.
Burnley have shipped multiple goals in five of their last six Premier League encounters, meaning the 3/4 on offer at BOYLE Sports for a Chelsea Win & Over 1.5 Goals appeals to me.
