Bolivia vs Panama

, KO: 02:00 Jul 2, 2024, Inter & CO Stadium

PANAMA are targeting a place in the round of 16 at the Copa America as they battle Bolivia in their final Group C fixture. The Panamanians will be aiming to build on that impressive win over USA and should have the upper hand over Bolivia, who have been poor lately.

Bolivia are coming off a 5-0 defeat to Uruguay in their previous Group C fixture. They were no match for the superior quality of the Uruguayans and could only muster just a single attempt on target throughout the encounter.

That was the second straight defeat for Panama, who began their campaign with a 2-0 defeat to the USA. Antonio Carlos Zago’s men have been struggling since long before the start of the Copa America and are winless in their last five matches, failing to score four times in that run.

Panama claimed their first ever win at the Copa America as they triumphed 2-1 over USA last time out in Group C. They fought back from a goal down with efforts from Cesar Blackman and Jose Farjado earning them the win.

The result means Panama now have a great chance of progressing to the next round for the first time in their history. The task is straightforward as a win on Tuesday will earn Thomas Christiansen’s men a place in the round of 16.

How the bookies view it: Panama the favourites

The bookies have installed Panama as overwhelming favourites with a win priced at 4/7 by Betfred. A victory for Bolivia is valued at 4/1 while Betfred is also offering odds of 11/4 for a draw.

Head to head: Panama always win

Panama have won all four previous matches against Bolivia, with the latest a 2-1 friendly victory last October.

Players to watch: Fajardo to star again

Jose Fajardo finally found his rhythm last time out after scoring the winner in Panama’s victory over USA. The striker could be worth keeping an eye on to find the net once again at 15/ 8 by Betfred.

With Bolivia struggling in attack, Panama will be targeting a shutout on Tuesday. Jose Cordoba will be the one to watch at the heart of the defence and can lead the Panamanians to a clean sheet at 21/20 with Betfred.

Probable line-ups

Bolivia are likely to ring in the changes following the thrashing by Uruguay last time out Rodrigo Ramallo, Diego Medina and Lucas Chavez are all in line to feature on Tuesday.

Panama will be without midfielder Adalberto Carrasquilla, who was shown a red card late in the win over USA. Jose Farjado is likely to be given a start on Tuesday having come off the bench to good effect last time out.

Bolivia: Viscarra, Cuellar, Haquin, Sagredo, Ramallo, Villamil, Medina, Suarez, Chavez, Vaca, Algaranaz
Panama: Mosquera, Davis, Miller, Cordoba, Farina, Murillo, Barcenas, Martinez, Ayarza, Blackman, Farjado

Anything else catch the eye?

With Bolivia failing to score so far at the Copa America, BTTS NO could be considered at 8/11 by Betfred. Panama could be backed to earn a win to nil at 7/5 with Betfred.

Panama scored in both halves in their previous fixture and could be set for a similar pattern at 13/8 by Betfred.
