We are all wondering how long Bodo/Glimt's fairy tale will continue, but after eliminating Inter Milan and defeating Atletico Madrid and Manchester City within a month, Sporting CP hardly look like an opponent that cannot be overcome.
The season in Norway has not yet started, which means that Bodo will be in much better physical shape, at least in terms of fatigue.
Last week, they played one match in the NM Cup round of 16, in which they defeated Molde, but that is their only outing in 2026 outside the Champions League.
Sporting CP are in phenomenal form with 12 consecutive games without defeat in all competitions, and only one loss in 2026, but Inter Milan were in the same form before their games against Bodo.
In addition to the significant difference in air temperature, the turf at the home stadium has proven difficult for the big European clubs, who are used to completely different conditions, for another year.
This in no way rules out the possibility of Sporting coming out on top, but the match will certainly not be easy.
How the bookies view it: They couldn't set them apart
The bookmakers will not allow themselves another mistake with the odds and are no longer underestimating the hosts' chances.
At the moment, the odds are absolutely equal, with both Bodo/Glimt and Sporting available at 8/5. At the same time, the draw seems quite possible at 5/2.
Recent head-to-head: Bodo undefeated against Portuguese teams
This will be another new rivalry involving Bodo/Glimt, for whom this is their debut campaign in the Champions League.
Last season, they played in the Europa League and faced two Portuguese teams, winning both matches.
Sporting also have a relatively recent history against Norwegian opponents, having won five of their six matches against teams from the Scandinavian nation.
Players to watch: Hauge is ready for the big leagues
Several players have made a name this season and will be targeted by clubs from the big leagues next season, but Jens Hauge has really been unreal for Bodo/Glimt.
He averages a goal contribution every 95 minutes of Champions League play with his six goals and four assists this season. He scored in both games against Inter Milan, and scored one of the goals against Manchester City too.
Probable line-ups
Bodo/Glimt: Haikin, Sjovold, Bjortuft, Gundersen, Bjorkan, Evjen, Berg, Brunstad Fet, Blomberg, High, Hauge
Sporting CP: Rui Silva, Diomande, Fresneda, Inacio, Mangas, Hjulmand, Simoes, Catamo, Guilherme, Trincao, Suarez
Anything else catch the eye?
Even with far more spectacular clashes taking place, the whole world will be watching this match unfold.
After the last few weeks, we can't help but expect goals in this match. Bodo have proven that they can score against any team, especially at home. We cannot say that any of their recent opponents have dominated them, even in terms of possession.
Sporting are another team in great form, and we certainly expect them to perform well despite all the difficulties, such as the pitch and the temperature.
But we have to stick with Bodo to not lose at home, although backing them with the regular market might be too risky. Thankfully, the high odds allow for a Draw No Bet pick with good value.
