Bayern Munich vs StuttgartGerman Bundesliga, KO: 14:30 Mar 20, 2021, Allianz Arena
BAYERN MUNICH cruised through to the Champions League quarter finals in midweek with the minimum of fuss and are expected to maintain their title charge when Stuttgart visit the Allianz Arena on Saturday.
Manager Hansi Flick has yet to even draw, never mind lose a Champions League match and extended his run to seven games with a bloodless win over Lazio.
They are four points clear of RB Leipzig at the top of the Bundesliga and welcome Pellegrino Matarazzo's side who have still got plenty to play for themselves as they try and push for a European spot.
Stuttgart are in eight place going into the weekend fixtures and are one of the league's better sides away from home – they have won six and only lost four of their away matches in the Bundesliga. They are also unbeaten in their last five games.
But trying to get something in Bavaria against a Bayern side unbeaten at home in the league this season will be hard work.
How the bookies view it
Recent head to heads
Bayern won 3-1 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in November with Kingsley Coman, Robert Lewandowski and Douglas Costa doing the damage.
The champions did the double last season, but Stuttgart did achieve a famous 4-1 win in Munich in 2018.
Players to watch
Robert Lewandowski to score is almost as short as Bayern are to win, but that's hardly surprising with 32 league goals to his name. He's 1/4 with Hill's, so obviously scrambling about for any kind of value would see you look elsewhere. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting netted in their midweek win and has two goals in his last four games. He's 23/20 with Skybet to score.
Sasa Kalajdzic is in sensational form for Stuttgart too though. He's scored seven goals in his last six games and he's netted in each of them. If Stuttgart are to score, he's the obvious value at 15/8 to score anytime.
Anything else catch the eye?
Stuttgart have scored in each of their last nine games and are likely to have a go against a Bayern side who do yield chances and usually concede. However, both teams to score is as short as 8/15 and the usually lucrative Bayern to win and both teams to score market is 11/10 with McBookie.com
The visitors have actually only conceded two more goals than Bayern this season so it would be a shock if this is a low scorer, but again you need to go as high as over 4.5 goals to get odds-against and even that is only 13/10 with SBK.
Stuttgart to score over 1.5 goals has a real chance at 23/10 with Gentingbet and for them to score before the 68th minute at 5/6 with bet365 which looks solid.
