Angola are aiming to stay alive in Morocco as they face Egypt in their final Group C fixture at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Palancas Negras are seeking their first win in the competition, while the Pharaohs have already qualified but are looking to stay perfect in the group.
Angola are coming off a 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe in their previous fixture, with Gelson Dala's opener cancelled out just before the break. Having lost 2-1 to South Africa in their opening fixture, Patrice Beaumelle's team are now without a win in the competition.
The good news for Angola is that they are not down and out yet and can qualify as one of the best third-placed teams with a win on Monday. However, their overall form has been unconvincing, with just three wins and four defeats in their last 10 matches in all competitions.
Meanwhile, Egypt claimed a 1-0 victory over South Africa in their previous fixture to secure a place in the round of 16. They fended off multiple attempts from Bafana Bafana and were able to hold on to Mohamed Salah's first-half penalty.
The Pharaohs have now claimed two wins in Group B after beginning their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Zimbabwe. Hossam Hassan’s team have also won their last three matches across all competitions.
How the bookies view it: Egypt with the edge
Egypt have the edge among the bookies and are priced at 13/8 by William Hill to claim the win. A victory for Angola is valued at 2/1 by bet365, who are also offering odds of 19/10 for a draw.
Head to head: Superior Egyptians
Egypt have a fine record in this fixture, with four wins and three draws from seven previous matches against Angola. The last meeting between both teams was a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier as they battled to a 2-2 draw.
Players to watch: Salah in the groove
Salah appears to have found his scoring range at the AFCON, having found the net in both matches so far. He will be the one to watch for Egypt (Mohamed Salah anytime goalscorer – priced at 7/4 by bet365).
Gelson Dala is often lively in attack for Angola and was on target in the previous fixture. He could be worth keeping an eye on (Gelson Dala anytime goalscorer – valued at 12/5 by bet365).
Probable line-ups:
Angola are likely to retain much of the team that faced Zimbabwe, with Gelson Dala supporting M'Bala Nzola in attack. Show is set to continue in midfield, while David Carmo should feature at the back.
Mohamed Hany was shown a red card last time out and is suspended for Egypt on Monday. Given their desire to stay perfect, the Pharaohs are unlikely to make wholesale changes, with Salah and Omar Marmoush expected to retain their places in the team.
Angola: Marques, Mata, Buatu, Carmo, To Caneiro, Beni, Show, Benson, Fredy, Gelson Dala, Nzola.
Egypt: El Shenawy, Eid, Ibrahim, Rabia, Hamdy, Attia, Zizo, Ashour, Salah, Marmoush, Trezeguet.
